Room 404

Prologue

Thunder crackled against the dark gray storm clouds overhead, it's heavy rain pouring onto the two kids below.

"Listen to me!" One of them yelled, her voice cracking almost as much as the thunder. However, her monotone voice wasnt angry. She nearly broke throughout her screams for the other girl, and her eyes held great sorrow.

The brown haired girl turned to face the girl, her deep brown eyes flaming with anger.

They stared into each other's eyes before the brunette let out a soft growl at the green-eyed girl.

"Fuck you."

The girl broke at hearing her friend say that. The words stabbed her heart like venom as she watched the woman walk away. Her emerald eyes went dull as she felt herself on the verge of tears.

"I thought we were friends..."

"You thought wrong."

The tall brown haired girl didn't even look at her.

"Sydney! Stop being an ass!" Kadence finally managed to scream, causing Sydney to turn around and glare at her.

"Cat's outta the bag, huh?" She joked as Kadence stormed over in an angry stance.

"Don't." She growled, and their eyes locked onto each other once more.

Sydney rose her hand and slapped the brunette hardly across the side of her face. Kadence let out a soft groan as she held her jaw uncomfortably.

"Stop following me, or it gets worse." She threatened as she shoved her to the concrete.

"Oh, ouch." Kadence groaned in a mocking manner as she rose to her feet. She raised her fist and swung at the girl, hitting her square in the eye.

Sydney softly gasped as she held her hand to her eye, feeling blood trickle through her fingers. Around her brown eye, her skin was a dark shade of purple, and swollen.

"Oh my god-" She was quickly interrupted as Sydney struck her with her free fist, and grunted as she felt her claws rake against her skin.

"Don't you ever fucking touch me again!"

Sydney grabbed Kadence's collared shirt, and slammed her head into her's. Both girls whimpered from the pain of the impact, and Sydney punched once more, but Kadence blocked this time.

She grabbed her hand and twisted it backwards, causing Sydney to scream out in pain as she felt her bone snap. Tears flowed from the girl's right eye, while blood poured from her left.

Sydney kicked Kadence swiftly, pushing her backwards. She stared with pained eyes as Kadence rolled to her side, letting out raspy coughs as she licked at her bloodied jaw.

An awkward silence fell between the two as they sat, their wounds oozing blood, and their hearts racing.

A loud bark rang throughout the street, and the sound of sirens blared across the city.

Sydney vigorously lifted herself and kicked Kadence's head, causing it to fall back and hit the hard concrete sidewalk.

Several screams of pain emerged from their throats, but the sirens grew closer and closer with each sound.

"Hey!" A raspy voice grabbed Sydney's shoulders as Kadence backed away steadily, her breathing uneven and heavy.

She let out a cry of pain as someone grasped her arm, but they soon released it and muttered a curse.

Before they knew it, they were sitting in the back of a police car, glaring angrily at each other.

"Oi, if you don't quit staring at each other, I'll zap you both." The officer growled from the front, his eyes darting between the girls and the road.

Sydney rolled her eyes and fell back into her seat, while Kadence placed her head on the metal bars of the car, slowly tapping her forehead along them.

"Care to explain why you two were fighting?"

"Fuck off, it's none of your business." Sydney growled to the woman, her brown eyes narrowed with visible discomfort.

They both knew that they never had any intentions of fighting, or even hurting each other, but they had been so twisted into their own thoughts, they had disregarded their past memories.

A large dog entered the room and stared at Kadence with big brown eyes, it's lips curled into a growl.

About two hours later, Kadence and Sydney were placed under house arrest and sent back home. How ironic.

Little did they know, this fight would forever change their lives, for better and for worse.
