"Mom? Dad? Ari?" I asked as I wandered through my house aimlessly. I had slept through my alarm clock due to a late night studying session, and woke up at around eleven AM, making me horribly late for school. What made it even weirder was that neither of my parents had came to wake me up; or were even  in the house for that matter. Plus my little sister Ariel, was also nowhere to be found.

I had called my parents multiple times and left them multiple messages. Until I looked into the garage. Both the cars were still there. What the fuck was going on? Were they at a neighbors house or something? We did get new ones like three days ago. I decided I'd check there. I took a quick shower and put on some fresh clothes. I grabbed some Pop-tarts out of the pantry and headed out side.

I walked over to the house that still strangely had the 'sold' sign out in front. I felt relief wash over me when I saw that their cars were also still in the driveway, meaning that they must be home. I was walking up the driveway when I stopped, having a sudden realization. Even if my parents had planned on coming over here, they'd still would have woken me up for school. Or woken me up to let me know where they were going. And why would they bring Ari, but not me? This was all too fucking weird. Had school been canceled overnight? That also would've been completely weird and random since it was April and we hadn't had any weather bad enough to cancel school in a while down here in Georgia.

I shook my head and kept walking to the door. I mean, I could still check if they had been over here. When I reached the door I knocked, and ended up pushing the door open slightly. What the hell? I peeked through the crack and it looked as if nobody had noticed.

"Um, hello!" I called out then proceeded to cringe. What if there was a robber or something in the house? I heard a sudden bark and a dog came running to the door. I stumbled backwards when I realized just how big the dog was. It growled at me, it's pricked ears standing high at attention. When I got a grip and realized the dog probably wasn't going to attack, I noticed it was a Doberman pinscher. And I also noticed no one still had came to the door.

"Um, easy boy...sit?" I sighed in relief when the dog hesitated for a second but complied and sat down. I slowly held out my hand and let him sniff me. Thank god he wasn't violent. Otherwise I could've been bleeding out on these steps. I knelt down and read his dog tag. Zeus.

"Hey, Zeus, your owners home?" I mumbled as I decided to take a risk and step inside the house. Zeus rose to his feet and bounded behind me as I checked the house. Sure enough, there was nobody here. The house stunk of strong perfume and cologne. It was probably an old couple that moved here. Or people that use too much to mask their scent. I noticed Zeus's leash on the couch. I grabbed it and hooked it onto his collar. "Wanna help me find your owners boy?" I asked. His ears twitched and he stared at me for a second before turning and trying to head out the door. "I'll take that as a yes."

I threw away my Pop-tart wrapper and closed the door behind me on the way out. I walked Zeus down to my house, all the while continuing to call my parents. When we reached my house I sat down on the steps and tried to think of something else. I tried to call my best friends Ally and Flynn, since they'd be in gym now, but to no avail as well. I could slowly feel panic rising in me. Zeus must've noticed because he lifted his head and stared at me as I dialed 911.

I held the phone close to my ear as my hand shook. I quietly prayed that someone would pick up, but just like everyone else, no one picked up. I groaned and began dialing random numbers. I even called the numbers of those stupid companies that blow up my phone talking about dumbass products, praying that someone, anyone would pick up. But just like my parents, my friends, and the cops, no one answered.

"What the fuck is going on?!" I cried, burying my face in my hands. I huffed and quickly texted both Ally and Flynn to text me right now. And that if this was a stupid ass prank or something, like they fucked with my phone or some shit, I was gonna kick their ass. I leaned back and sighed. I just wanted to see somebody. Whether it was an old lady speed walking down the sidewalks, or an asshole kid from school throwing something at my head. I didn't care. I wanted my family. I felt so alone. I closed my eyes and began rummaging through random thoughts.

I stayed like that for a good five minutes before a horrible thought hit me.

Was I the last person on earth?
