Victoria of Cambridge

June 12th, 1518

My dearest Vicky,

I wonder as I sit through these boring meetings how it will be to have you by my side soon. I know you are resting from feeling sick because of our child growing inside of you.

I do hope it is a boy but if it shall be a girl worry not. You are young and we will have many children.

Our wedding day approaches soon and all I can think of is seeing you walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey holding onto your father's arm. People already see you as Queen. This part is just necessary for the council.

I cannot wait to see you tomorrow my darling Queen. Mary is coming today and you shall greet her in the dining hall.

Yours Truly,

King Henry VIII

I read the letter and smiled softly before I rolled over and sat up before rushing over to my closet. I pulled my pink dress out before the door opened and in came Emilia.

"Dress me, please. And my hair in a low bun. I am to greet my stepdaughter today." I said and Emilia nodded before she took the dress out of my hands.

It took twenty minutes before the two of us were walking to the dining hall. There a guard bowed to me before opened the door.

"Her Royal Highness, Princess Victoria." The crier said and everyone bowed as I walked past them. When I got the group that was former ladies of Catherine I kept my head up as I walked past and stepped up the stairs to the throne beside's Henry's.

"Where is his Majesty?" Charles asked as he stepped beside me.

"Meetings all day with the council and war council. I am here to greet Mary." I said and Charles nodded his head before trumpets began to play. I watched as the doors opened and it came to Mary.

"Princess Mary Tudor!" The crier said and I stepped down before Mary stood in front of me and grinned. She bowed her head and I smiled before bowing myself.

"Princess Mary, it is with great honor and a great pleasure to welcome you back to court. It is also my pleasure to introduce myself as your future stepmother." I said and Mary stared at me for a moment before smiling.

"It will be an honor to have you as my stepmother Victoria. May God bless you to bring my father healthy sons and then beautiful daughters." She said and I let out a laugh before bending in front of her.

"For a five-year-old little girl, you are very intelligent. Your mother shall be proud." I said and Mary smiled before throwing herself in my arms. Everyone gasped around us before I wrapped my arm firmly around Mary's body.

"How would you like to come with me for a walk around the gardens and we may speak?" I asked and Mary nodded before she snuggled into my hip.

I nodded to Emilia before we all made our way out of the dining hall. Everyone bowing as we walked past them.

"Why did they stop when we walk past them?" Mary asked as we got outside and I placed her on the ground.

"A lot of Spaniards are upset I am to be Queen and your mother was made a princess," I explained as we got near the pond and I moved Mary to my other side.

"Papa wrote a letter to my lady and said the wedding is soon. Will I be in it?" She asked as we neared a bench and she sat down.

"You are. I am having a bunch of my new ladies walk behind me at my wedding. I would like if you would lead them." I said and Mary squealed.

"Truly?"

"Truly! Mary, I know how much you love your mama and I will never try to replace her but I do hope you would like me." I said and Mary stared at me for a moment before opening a pouch and pulling out a maroon rosary out.

"I do like you Victoria. This is for you. For prayer" She said and I smiled as she placed the rosary in my hand and I held it close to me.

"I shall cherish this forever, Mary," I said before I heard footsteps and I looked up to see Henry walked towards us.

"Papa!" Mary said as she raced towards her father. I stood up and placed a hand on my stomach before laughing as Henry held Mary.

"My darling girl! You have grown." He said and Mary chuckled.

"No papa you have grown," Mary said before they both walked over to us. I bowed my head at Henry before he kissed me softly.

"Mary, Vicky and I have something to tell you," Henry said and I stared at him.

"Henry, I thought we were going to wait until after the wedding."

"Nonsense, Mary you are going to be a big sister. In Vicky's belly, a baby is growing." Harry said and Mary smiled as she turned to me.

"A baby?"

"Yes, a baby who shall be here in about seven months," I stated softly as I stepped closer to her. Mary grinned before turning to her father.

"But Mary you cannot tell anyone else yet. Not until after the wedding in three days." Henry said and I nodded.

"People will think we did all of this just because I am pregnant. That is not true. I love your papa very much. And I love you and this baby very much." I explained and Mary nodded as she stood on her own.

"Who cares what others shall think? We are to be family." Mary said and I chuckled softly.

"A family, yes."
