The sound of thunder and the flash of lightning outside did little more to signal the inevitable rain that was just about to fall. As the children ran across the street from their bus stop, heavy drops of coolness fell from the skies  and everyone scattered for shelter. The trees swayed back and forth in sequence with the command of the raging wind. The flowers all colorful and thriving swerve as their scents , carried by the wind , twirled in the air; mixed up, with no particular distinction.
All of it part of one aura of mystery.

A mother cat gathered up her kittens in a corner. Raising her head as if to count if they were all there1,2,3,4,5,6.... There's something special about mothers. Almost as if the theory of them having a sixth sense were true. On realizing that her 7th one was missing, she carefully pushed the rest under the cover of the net they had been using. The proverbial search for the missing sheep;or in this case ,kitten; is what followed.

A cold shiver ran down her spine as trickles of sweat cascaded down the frame of her face. She was breathing heavily now , and the weight of her body was becoming a burden for her feet to carry. She stretched out her hand towards the table ... almost, almost there.. Grabbing her cellphone from the table by the tip of her hand she heaved a sigh before pressing the speed dial button to call her husband.

The mobile you are calling cannot be reached..  She wouldn't even wait for the customer care service to finish... The pain was becoming unbearable , her breath was shaky and she felt a bit dizzy. By the support of the armchair she had been sprawled on she struggled to get herself up.

"Hold on baby , just a while longer," she said, as her hand subconsciously caressed the bump on her stomach that had greatly increased in size the last 9months.
