Chapter 9

I've always hated Tuesdays. It was the slowest day of the week for me. Fifth period was the worst out of them all..

"Miss Morst, would you like to tell me why you didn't show up to my class yesterday?"

"You see.. I was here at the beginning of the day, and then my brother calle-" The door opens interrupting me.

"Mrs. King! Jaylynn was with me. Helping my family and I redecorate my home." Zach says making his way towards his seat. Right next to me.

I turn to Zach and mouthed a thank you. He just smirked and placed his hand on my thigh. Why did I have to wear a dress today.. 

Mrs. King throughout the class period kept looking towards Zach and I. Does she think we are thing? Because we weren't, I just met the kid four days ago. Then again, I feel like I've known him for so much longer. I guess you could say we were friends. I even started following him on instagram, which I would never do. I'm taking slow steps, I need a new buddy to hang out with anyways. 

"Miss Morst, can you answer this question?" Mrs.King asks rudely. Well nigga damn. She knew I wasn't paying attention. Now the whole class in looking at me like those birds from finding nemo. 

"What was question?" I ask with just as much rudeness. 

"Who started the Cold War?" She asks me knowing we didn't even start this yet. Little did she know, I read the whole darn book. Jokes on her, the old hag., 

"There isn't really an answer to that Mrs.King. It was caused by the social climate, and tension in Europe after the end of WWII. It was also caused because of the increasing power struggles between the Soviet Union. That is why we practically had the race to the moon." I say smirking. 

Mrs.King was shocked. Jaw open and everything. With that class ended and I walked out with pride. Walking to my locker, I see Libby there crying. I approach her slowly, "Everything okay Libby?" 

"I miss you Jay! I am so sorry I didn't tell you. I can't live my life with you, I need you. I've spent too much time with Allen and I am quite sick of him. Please, I can pay you if you want, just please please please please please-" I interrupt, she could go on forever with those pleases.

"I already forgave you Libby. If you wanted to hang out with me, you could have called." I say putting my books in my locker. 

"I did call, well attempted. I just ended up disconnecting because I couldn't bare the fact I hurt you this much."

"Alright whatever Libby. I don't really have time for you wasting our lunch, so lets hang out right now."

"YES! I promise you, I will never lie to you again." She screams and drags me to the cafeteria. 

After we got our food, we went to the courtyard and ate lunch there. I ended up telling her all about what happened over the 3 days we haven't been talking. I especially told her about the Zach thing. How I totally ruined my chances by not kissing him, me spending time with him, and me starting to catch those yucky feelings.

"O-M-G! Jay! You little bitch! Why didn't you kiss him! I would have took that chance in a heartbeat. It is Zach! He is into you! I need to change you and your ways.." Libby just kept rambling on. 

"Calm down, Zach and I are just friends. He has a thing with Bonnie anyway Lib. So don't even bother. I also like how I am thank you very much.."

"I know Jay, but you are just too good of a person. You need to live a little. We are almost halfway into junior year. Senior year isn't far and that is going to be quick. You shouldn't be looking back when your older seeing all the things you have missed out on. Live in the moment boo, and if you like Zach, just like him. Don't use your brain or worry about other people. Use your heart" 

This is why I love Libby. She always knows what to say. Now I know what to do and I want to do it now. I pick up all my stuff, "Lib I have to go do something. Thanks for the advice, I love you." 

Libby just smiles and that's when I hurry out the room to find Zach. I kept asking everyone, and they all said the same thing, out front smoking one. Great. I hurry up outside so I could kiss the life out him. Hopefully I do it right, that would be just plain embarrassing if I kiss wrong.  I finally spot him in the back part of the school. I start to run up to Zach, then he turns around..

Boom.

That was the sound of my heart being blown up into a million pieces.
