Henry . My psychiatrist. He is not supposed to exist. Nor Grace, my therapist. Or at least in my life. Their existence is created by fault due to a spontaneous chain of events better known as the domino effect. The first domino was not meant to fall thus my reason for explaining in extreme detail the product of cause and effect.
Because of some strange occurrence, some spontaneous change in wind or subtle movement through the vibrations of sound the first domino has fallen. As you must surely know if you have had the time to play with dominos, once one falls, the next in line will surely follow if the spacing is mathematically correct. Unfortunately the spacing was in fact correct. A time anomaly it created.
I think back to when my phone transmitted an electric signal converting my voice into radio waves to the nearest cell tower and eventually to my mothers cell phone which was at the time 5,561 km away.
I often think back to when my frontal lobe was governed by emotions rather than logic, Firing action potentials from one neurone to the next releasing the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine.
I think back to the physical link of my past life and my life now. The air plane. The combustion chamber started, creating a high velocity jet, thrusting my plane into the air and eventually to where I am now in life.
These are a few examples of the quiet instigators of life, knocking over the first domino with a slight mis use of an elbow or a nearby heavy foot step of a 6ft tall man with exactly a blood alcohol level at 0.08% creating the perfect amount of vibration to shake the table and disrupt the domino's perfected stillness.
The last domino has not yet fallen. The hope still remains that I, the player who set up these dominos has miscalculated the spacing between the second last and the last, leaving one domino standing. It is of the utmost importance that the last domino stands. This is because there will be less dominos to fix back into place.
It may be one, but one less domino fallen is one more accident that will not have the chance of happening.- A girl with depression. Age: 19
