When they got out to the car, they were really excited. They were going to the state final.
His mom said, "I can't wait to watch you play." Then she went to hug him.
"Come on mom, you know I don't like hugs," so he pushed her away.
Then they got in the car, his mom and dad in the front, him and his sister, Joy, in the back.
"So where are we going," asked their dad.
Martin and Joy looked at each other, and agreed. "We want to go to Mini's Pizza."
So they went there. They got two pizzas. One large with extra cheese, pepperoni, and bacon. The second had extra cheese, mushrooms, and sausage. They ate, laughed, and had a good time.
Then they got back out to the car, bellies full, eyelids drooping. Martin and Joy fell asleep.
While they were driving, they went over a hill. On the other side, was a drunk, heading the wrong way.
Martin's dad tried to get out of the way, but to no prevail. They created head on.
Martin woke up just before contact. He was able to pull him and his sister out of the car, but his parents weren't as lucky. They crashed into the car. Martin immediately called 911, and tried to get to get his parents.
He was still trying as the cops, fire department, and ambulance showed up. They pulled him away, screaming. Finally, he sat down and began to cry. He said, "I turned down the last hug from my mom I'll ever get."
