No one's POV:
The guardians all looked at Jack in shock and disbelief. Did he not see what they saw? What could they possibly do, how could they possibly win? North was the first to speak up.
North: Jack... our powers they're...
Jack: Gone? Yeah, I could tell by itsy bitsy bunny.
As he uttered this sentence his eyes lit up with their familiar mischievous glow, and a small smile graced his lips.
Bunnymund: I may be small mate but I'll still kick ya straight in the gab. Now what's this plan ya have or are ya just messing with us?
Jack: I'm not sure if it will work, but if all goes according to plan then the world will have Amorette back before everyone is engulfed in darkness.
North: Just how do you propose we do this Jack? Our powers are gone or are weakening. We will never be able to stand up to Pitch and Desdemona like this.
The name Desdemona was an icy knife in Jack's heart and he fought to maintain composure; gripping his chest and freezing tears before they could fall. To him she would always be Amorette, the beautiful snow angel that had been untouched by the world. He refused to see the creature Desdemona as her, refused to let his mind flood with the warmth of Amorette's blood and tears. Swallowing the pain he took a ragged breath and said
Jack: We have not lost our true power. Our power lies in the love and admiration of the children, Pitch may be able to scare them but he can never take them from us.
Tooth: But Jack look at the globe, it's black. They're losing their belief in us.
Jack: Not for long, we're going to find Jamie and the gang. They helped us defeat Pitch once, they can do it again.
Bunnymund: Pitch was alone before mate, now he's got Desdemona by his side. We don't even know what she is capable of.
Jack: You're right, but we know Amorette. We know what she truly desired more than anything, the children's belief. Once she sees how we can work with the children, she may start becoming her old self again.
Bunnymund: May? You're basing your plan on a maybe!? What if she doesn't give in, what if she just doesn't care about the children anymore!?
Jack: Then we will use this.
From his hoodie pocket Jack unveiled the golden vile with an all too familiar face on it.
Toothiana: Her memories! How did you...when did you get those!?
Jack lowered his head, glaring at the vile in his hand. It all came back to him in an instant. The pale moon glinting off the golden canister as Pitch's words threatened to deceive Amorette. The sound of the wind rushing past as he swooped in to retrieve the precious artifact from the boogeyman and the sickening warmth of Amorette's blood dripping onto his face as she sacrificed herself for him. Her turning wicked was his fault. If he had chosen to work as a team to retrieve the vile or convince Amorette that Pitch was lying then she wouldn't be gone. Now all he had to show for his "brave" act was the artifact of her memories which were utterly useless without her. However he didn't remember how he obtained it, he simply realized it was there the first time he woke up. Jack considered it his cross to bear, punishment for what he did. Now however he saw only hope in its glittering surface. Swallowing his regrets he forced a smile, raised his head and lied. After all he was a guardian known for mischief.
Jack: When I flew in to attack Pitch, he dropped it. I got it when he was distracted.
North: With that vile, we may have a chance.
Jack: Let's go get Jaime. We've got a world to save.
