daniel sighs loudly as he hugs the soft pillow close to his chest, wishing it was his lover. or- who he thought was his lover. at this point, daniel's life had been a mess, all going down hill in a matter of weeks.he listened to the soft choirs of the birds basking in the sun just outside. he wished he could go back to a time where everything was simple and happy. a time where he was confident in his love for corbyn, but now- he felt like he was falling.
falling out of love. the tragic event in which nobody would want to witness nor feel the pain of. although, this would pain the both of them, leave permanent scars on their golden hearts.
daniel couldn't help but feel guilt course his body, wanting to cry with how much he had already hurt his precious boy; he one he dreamed of marrying, living together with his kids. it was a life of perfection awaiting them.
that life of perfection had seemed to turn into a far fantasy. with how things had been playing out and neither boy attempting to fix their problems, it may never see light. and that was the scariest thing that both boys feared the most.
daniel let out a small whimper as he had been stuck in his thoughts, his most dangerous place. he shook them away as he sat up, wiping his eyes with the pad of his thumbs as he walked to the mirror.
his eyes were dull, hair messy and not styled, his body clad with a hoodie he hadn't changed in nearly two days. he felt disgusted. disgusted in himself for not bothering to take care of himself or the person he loved, disgusted in himself for allowing his thoughts to remove him from reality.
the brunet stripped from his clothing, walking into the bathroom with a fresh set of clothes consisting of a tight black polo and simple black jeans. he hopped into the shower that had now been warm, beginning to wash his body.
he sang softly to himself, brightening his mood just a little bit. he would have to talk to corbyn today, tell him how he feels and hope to the angels above that he would understand. maybe, there was hope. hope that there was a fix.
daniel smiled to himself as he looked back into the mirror upon changing. this time, a boy with neat clothing and styled hair stared back. although, his eyes had still been dull, he could still sense a bit of happiness.
daniel knocked softly upon corbyn's bedroom door, hoping the boy would open up with wide arms. "go away, please." daniel sighed, nodding to himself. "i'm going out for a bit, i'll be back in about a half an hour." daniel rested his forehead against the wooden door, awaiting an answer.
"that's what you always say." a soft voice had been barely audible through the door, but daniel knew it was true. he couldn't keep to his promises, but that was something in the works. he would do anything to better himself for the boy he loved.
daniel walked out the door, walking down the street into the crowded city. he continued his short walk until he found a small pop up florist. he smiled to himself as he walked up, seeing a replica of the exact flowers corbyn had been gifting him.
"hello, ma'am. could i please have a bouquet of those pink flowers?" daniel asked sweetly to the elderly lady working. "i'm sorry, sweetie. these are being held for an everyday customer. i haven't seen him today, so i'm holding them for a bit." the woman smiled.
daniel frowned immediately, knowing corbyn had been the everyday customer she had been talking about. yet, now he was hiding in his room all because of him. "i'm the boy's boyfriend. i haven't been living up to my part of the relationship, and- and i really need those flowers." daniel practically begged, nearly spilling his heart out to the woman.
"oh dear, you're the boy he gushes about. he really loves you, you know. i hope everything goes well with the both of you. take 'em, no need to pay." the woman spoke with a sweet smile, sympathy laced through her voice.
"thank you, so much." daniel spoke as he turned on his heel, a small slip in his step as he returned home. upon entering, he could hear the small sobs of corbyn coming from his room.
daniel's heart swelled as he made his way up the stairs, arriving outside of the blond's room. "baby, i'm back." daniel muttered, corbyn's sobs quickly turning into small gasps. "okay."
"will you please let me in? i have something for you." daniel kept his voice soft, hoping not to scare the fragile boy. he heard shuffling from inside the room until finally, the broken blond opened the door.
his eyes were dull, bags underneath. his hair had been a mess, much like daniel's this morning. a smile threatened as corbyn's eyes flickered to the flowers in daniel's hands.
"we- we need to talk." daniel stuttered, tightening his grip on the flowers. corbyn nodded, urging him to sit with him on the bed. he handed the flowers to corbyn, allowing the boy to take them into his own hands. the sweet smell filling his nose.
"i- i want us to work out, corbs. i want us to be how we used to." daniel breathed out, fiddling with his fingers. "me too, daniel. i love you, alright? i don't know what to do about us." corbyn averted his gaze to his lap.
"corbyn- i think that's the problem. i love you, i really do. please remember that. but- i think we need a break to really think about us." daniel whispered.
"are you willing to wait for me? if we take a break that is. will you still want to be together?" corbyn wondered, his eyes meeting daniel's. "i- i don't know, corbyn. i feel like i'm slipping away, but i don't want to. i really don't." a tear slipped daniel's eye as it fell down his cheek.
corbyn smiled softly, picking at the flowers lightly. he leaned in, connecting both his and daniel's lips. their lips moved in sync, pure love laced through what was to be their final kiss. corbyn stood up, dropping the flowers to the ground.
"i'll always love you and you know that. come to me when you've got it sorted out. i'll be waiting for you, love." and with that, corbyn made his way down the stairs and out of the house. "i love you too."
