Simon POV

"Simon! Breakfast is ready!" my mom called from the kitchen.

Nggh. I dragged myself out of bed and walked into the bathroom. 'I wonder what my new school, Stanfur High, is going to be like,' I thought while brushing my teeth.

I was a skinny, shy cheetah, around 5' 6", a little shorter than average, and I consider myself bi. I've been moving to new places for my entire life, because my dad's job required a lot of traveling. It was extremely difficult for me to make friends and stay in contact with them, because I moved every year or so. I sighed, turned off the sink, and headed downstairs. The kitchen smelled delicious.

"Morning, mom." I said as I rubbed my eyes. I made my way to the table but accidentally hit the side of the counter with my hip. I groaned. I wasn't fully used to the new house yet.

"I made your favorite - chocolate chip pancakes!"

I brightened up when she said that - her chocolate chip pancakes were amazing! I sat down and hungrily wolfed down the pancakes.

"So, are you excited for the first day of school?" she asked me.

"Meh. I hope I get to make some friends, though," I responded with a mouth full of pancake and milk.

I grabbed my coat and bag and headed out the door.

"Have fun at school!" my mom said and hugged me.

"Mommm- I'm not a baby anymore!" I complained, but returned the hug. She always knew how to cheer me up.

I walked down the street and headed toward the bus stop where all kinds of furs were waiting. Eventually, the bus pulled up and I sat down. Suddenly, somebody tapped me on the shoulder. When I looked up, I saw a handsome wolf looking down on me.

"May I sit here?" the wolf asked.

"Uhh, s-sure, I g-guess" I stammered and moved toward the window.

"I'm Jake, what's your name?" Jake asked.

"I'm s-Simon," I looked into his irresistible blue eyes and blushed. Why was I acting like this? "This is my f-first year here."

"That's cool," Jake responded. "The furs are really chill here."

"Anyway, do you want to be friends?" Jake asked.

"Sure!" I exclaimed. "I mean, that's cool."

The bus arrived at the school and everyone stepped off the bus.

"Want me to show you around?" Jake asked.

"That'd be great, thanks" I responded. "I'd get lost in this enormous school by myself."

We chuckled, and I followed Jake, my new friend, into the school.
