Start!
The match was on The Reef. My three teammates ran ahead of me quickly. I'm not the fastest squid, and I prefer to keep myself out of the action. I swim through the ink they'd laid down and perched myself behind a small wall, leaning on my half-arm and holding the trigger with my useful one. I scouted the area, spotting an inkling girl making her way to our turf. I charged up my splatterscope and aimed at her. I tried to steady myself, leaning more against the wall. My aim was still shaky and my arm began to get sore from the hard concrete it was pushed against. I took a chance and shot at her, my ink shooting across the terrain and managing to hit her leg. Not the best shot, but it got the job done. I scouted again for more enemies but it looked like their team had been wiped, so I got up and crawled to the edge of my platform to perch behind another wall below me; but I felt someone grab the hood of my Pearlescent Hoodie. I felt my muscles stiffen with anxiety and my head snapped back to look at them. A boy wearing a red long sleeved shirt.
"Help please! It itches! Hurry hurry hurry!" His other arm was frantically trying to scratch at his back. His eyes were wide and teary as he called for me to help him. Naturally, I scrambled to my feet and he turned around. I scratched at where I thought he was trying to reach.
"Up... Up more! Ahhhh... To the right a little bit... Hah... Hah..." His tensed arms loosened and dropped to his sides as his itchiness was relieved, "Thanks bye!"
I stood there for a moment in shock, then went back to the task at hand- turf war. I hopped off the ledge and hid behind the yellow sign. The enemies had all respawned by now and countered our other two teammate's efforts to push ahead, meaning that I was going to be in a risky situation if I didn't kill them off. I set my sights on a girl with an Octobrush who was approaching me. I put my finger on the trigger and charged the shot, aiming at the girl. She noticed the pink laser that came from my charged weapon and began swerving side to side in an effort to approach me and kill me. I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, and tried my best to aim. Just as I was about to splat her-
"Help again! Please!" The loud pleading startled me and caused me to flinch, dropping my weapon. The shot was fired in a random direction as it clattered to the concrete. I instinctively got up and scratched again, but I noticed something. I reached in his shirt and pulled out a white cardboard price tag.
"That's why im-!" He was interrupted as he was splatted by the Octobrush girl. I was also splatted soon after.
As I respawned I'd noticed that we were being spawn camped; badly too. They were throwing a steady stream of bombs onto our spawn and it became pointless to move ahead. I sat at spawn since there were only 30 seconds left in the match anyways. The stranger must have moved ahead and gotten splatted again, since he respawned after me.
"Hey, why aren't you fighting?" He asked, loosely holding his Splat Roller.
"There's no use, were being camped." I replied, watching the ink fly.
"Aww, c'mon. Even if you die you get inkage on your weapon!" He tried to pull on the sleeve of my amputated arm, undoing the nice bow I'd tied at the elbow.
"I don't really care..! There's only 20 seconds left..!" I quickly pulled my sleeve back and began retying the bow.
"Oh... Sorry if I made you upset..." I didn't look up at him until I'd retied the sleeve, and he had watery eyes. I felt some shame course through my veins, like I'd yelled at a puppy.
"N- No..! I just... Got a little overwhelmed... Sorry." I began to tug lightly on my hoodie strings, making the hood hug my neck.
"Please forgive me stranger!" He suddenly dove into my arms, pinning me against a wall. I made a small noise of shock before stuttering "I forgive you."
"Yay! Can we be best friends?" He asked, the tears in his eyes evaporating into excitement.
"Okay, but I don't even know your name." I felt my face turn red from the position we were in. I was sitting against the wall with my knees partially bent, while he straddled me and hugged me.
"It's Ichii! Now can we be friends?" He asked with puppy dog eyes.
"Yeah, we can I guess... My name's Cream."
FINISHED!
The match had finally ended and Ichii ran to Judd. I quickly followed, still shaken up. Of course we lost.
