CHAPTER 1
This is just great. I was the new girl at my school because my dad found a better job, so we had to move to California. My name is Kat, and today is my first day as a senior in high school. I was in the car with my mom and she was just blabbing on about being safe and studying hard. I just zoned her out and turned the radio up. I was already nervous, I guess that was normal. My mom was driving me to school because my dad was borrowing my car at the moment. After school, I have to come home on the bus, because my mom had work, that meant I didn’t have a ride. I absolutely hate the bus, like I’ll probably end up sitting next to some freak. I was wearing a tight blue t-shirt that showed off my hour glass shaped body with black high waisted shorts. I let my long, light brown, straight hair flow over my shoulders. I clumsily stumbled out of the car, threw my backpack over my shoulders, and walked into school. It was huge, and I already knew that I would have trouble finding my classes. The hallways were packed, so it was hard to move fast. I walked around for a while and I still couldn’t find my 1st hour. I didn’t see the “Caution: Floor Wet” sign, so I slipped and fell backwards, but somebody caught me. I could feel two hands holding me. Their stomach was touching my back. I turned my head, to find myself in the arms of a really cute boy. He had brown eyes and brown hair. I found myself immediately attracted to him, I got so absorbed into him so suddenly. Boy:”Woah, are you okay?” I was speechless, I couldn’t help but stare at him, fascinated. Then suddenly I managed to speak. Kat:”Uh yeah I’m good, thanks.” He shot me a smile, so I decided to flash a smile back at him. His arms were still around me, holding me, and we kind of just stared at each other for a while. Kat:”Um.” Boy:”Oh sorry.” He said as he quickly released me awkwardly. Kat:”No it’s fine.” I tucked my hair behind my ear. Boy:”I’m Shawn by the way, Shawn Mendes.” Kat:”I’m Kat..Kat Lockwood.” I added a small smirk. Boy:”Why don’t I know you Kat?” Kat:”I just moved here.” I said as I shifted my weight to one leg. Shawn:”Oh okay, well first hour is about to start. Do you know where your class is?” Kat:”No I looked for it and I can’t find it.” Shawn:”Oh don’t worry, I’ll take you there.” He took my schedule and lead me to my class. Shawn walked unsually close to me. On the way to class, he asked me questions about myself. I liked it when he smiled with the corner of his mouth, that made me smile. I already liked him, so fast. We finally got to my class. Shawn;”Alright Lockwood this is it, first hour math.” He smiled at me brightly. Kat;”Thank you.” Shawn:”Anytime. Oh and the teacher is a bit of a snooze, so feel free to use your phone.” Then he winked at me and left. Dang it, I thought he was going to give me his number. I took a deep breath and stepped into the classroom. Everyone’s eyes adjusted onto me. “Ah you must be Kat. Have a seat right in that empty chair in the very back. That will be your assigned seat from now on.” the teacher said. As I walked to the back of the room, whispers traveled around the room. I sat down, but I wasn’t sure if I liked my seat. I was sitting right in the middle of two really hot guys, with another guy sitting directly in front of me. They all had at least a couple of tattoos, but not like a sleeve..just a few. One of the boys had a lip piercing, and they all had at least one piece of clothing that was black. They looked scary..dangerous. Their appearance did scare me, but they were really attractive. I found them more attractive than Shawn. All three of them were staring directly at me, and I could feel their eyes undressing me. The whole class period I sat there very uncomfortably. I didn’t dare look at one of them. The bell rung after a long time, but I was relieved. I couldn’t wait to get away from them. Everybody was shuffling out of the classroom, and I was one of the last people to walk out, but I didn’t quite walk out just yet. One of those boys was right behind me, and pushed me from behind. All my books fell out of my hands and onto the floor. I crouched down to the floor, so I was on my knees, and I started gathering my books. “Oh I am so sorry, let me help you.” He said as he got down on his knees too and helped me. Kat;”It’s fine.” I said coldy. I was pretty sure he pushed me on purpose. I caught him staring into my shirt. “I’m Taylor by the way.” He said as he stood up and held out his hand for me. I hesitantly took his hand and let him help me up. Kat;”Thanks, Taylor.” He gave me this sexy half smile and started moving closer to me. I backed up, but he kept walking closer to me. Taylor:”What’s your name?” he smirked. Kat:”Kat.” I said as I took another step back. Taylor;”I like that.” I couldn’t back up anymore. My back had hit the door. Taylor saw that I was trapped, and he pressed his body against mine, and I could fully feel him. Oh god. Kat:”Um I have to go.” I reached for the doorknob and turned it. I rushed out of the room and fast walked to my locker. He is so hot, but he is so scary. I don’t know how to feel about him. I put my books in my locker, but then a small group of girls came up to my locker. “We feel so bad for you.” Said one girl. Kat;”What? Why?” “My name is Jenn, and you need to avoid those three boys that you sit by in class. They’re the ultimate bad boys of the school, so be careful. Trust me, you don’t want to get involved with Sammy Wilkinson, Cameron Dallas, and especially Taylor Caniff.” she talked really fast, but I got what she said. I nodded my head, then Jenn and her group of friends walked away. I gulped hard. I wondered why they were so bad. I shut my locker, and Cameron was standing right there, leaning against the lockers wih his arms crossed, biting his lip, and looking me up and down. Cameron:”Hey there beautiful.”
