10 Years Later

Joe

Was this the right decision? I couldn't decide.  Maybe I shouldn't have applied. But I did really want to do it but I had a weird feeling about it.
I couldn't dance. I'd always wanted to be able to but it wasn't exactly "cool" for boys to dance at my school. Even though I didn't really care about being cool at high school. I only cared about one thing. A person. She was-shut up Joe. Don't even think about them.  There they were again. On my mind as usual. They always were and it always hurt every time.

I dragged myself out of bed and made a coffee. Byron was still sleeping. He was my roommate now. Caspar had been for a few years but he lived with Josh now. I dressed into casual clothes. I would get an outfit at Elstree studios. I must be insane to even consider signing up for strictly come dancing. I cant believe I even passed my audition.

I made myself some toast for breakfast but barely ate any of it as I was sick to the stomach with nerves. After a while I gave up trying to eat and instead finished getting ready and just got out of the house. I walked to Elstree studios as I was quite early. It wouldn't take me long. When I arrived at Elstree I was bang on time. I was directed to the celebrity lounge. There was a few celebs already there. We spoke for a while before they all went off to get coffee so I scrolled through my Facebook. I suddenly got a notification.

Ten years ago today (attached image)

I opened up the image to see a picture of me and a red haired girl. I turned off my phone quickly, my heart beating fast. That couldn't be ten years ago. Ten years already? It felt like yesterday when she left to go back home and she promised me-shut up Joe, I told myself firmly.

I got talking to a red head called Stacey Dooley in the celeb lounge and we just chilled. We were both nervous, me more so. She helped calm my nerves a little. I knew that we were going to get on really well. Neither of us had dance experience.

Around two hours after our arrival we got taken to hair and makeup. Stacey and I sat down on a chair each as people began to bustle around getting us ready. The door opened and in walked some girls. I didn't know if they were pros or celebs as I couldn't turn around to look but I knew that they were girls from their voices. Also they were most likely pros as all the celebs were already in here.
"I have a good feeling about this year" A welsh voice whispered. Evidently they weren't keen on everyone hearing their conversation.

"I don't" A south African said back. "I think that I'm gonna get someone bad."

"Same" an Australian replied. Oh no. Australia. Don't think about her. Don't think about her.

"One of us are bound to get to at least the quarter finals this year" the welsh girl whispered.

"But you and me only joined last year so we normally get the bad ones. The people who have been here longest will get the best celebs. Last year I got Revvo. He was a laugh but he couldn't dance. I need a mixture. Someone who's a laugh but can dance" She giggled slightly and the other two girls laughed also.

"Lets scope out the celebs" the south African whispered eagerly.

I glanced sideways at Stacey. She had her face screwed up and was quite clearly trying to eavesdrop also.
"Hmmmm. Not a bad bunch this year. Though we can only see the back of their heads" the Welsh girl said. "Have you either of you seen the line up yet?"

"Uh, no" the other two both replied in unison.

"We like it to be a surprise" the Australian explained.

"Well. There doesn't really appear to be any fit guys this year" the Welsh girl laughed. "Besides, We aren't exactly single. I'm getting married. Oti is married and you're in a long term relationship" she told the Australian.
