(A very long chapter ahead, just a heads up)

Penny - A romantic but shy girl with feelings towards Gumball

Gumball - a flashy, clumsy but adorable blue cat who has immense feelings towards Penny since preschool

Darwin - i feel awkward

With that out of the way, here's a tale of Gumball Watterson and Penny Fitzgerald and their forever bound love for each other.

It was a normal day in Elmore, Gumball Watterson arises from his deep slumber, groggy and half asleep as he prepares himself for the day ahead. School, homework, friends you know the rest.

Gumball carefully trends down the stairs and greets his family with a heartfelt smile, he loves this time of day. "Hey everyone" spoke Gumball to his family, "Morning Gumball!" everyone said in unison with a joyful tone. Nicole preparing breakfast, Richard watching TV while sleeping and Anais playing with her beloved doll.

He quickly storms into the bathroom where he cleans himself up while brushing his teeth at the time. When he's done, he looks fresh and as happy as he could ever be. Gumball took a seat next to Darwin where they discussed normal topics between each other. "Sup man, how'd you sleep?" said Darwin, "Ehh, could've been better but it was okay" spluttered Gumball." The two brothers went to finish their breakfast, say goodbye to everyone else, and in haste get to school so there aren't any more detentions that are already piling up from the annoying Miss Simian and her loud mouth.

15 minutes later

Gumball and Darwin enter the school grounds and rush to their class, without a teacher to be seen. "Phew! We just made it" exclaimed Gumball, he checks his watch only to realise they are actually on time for the very first time in a long time. As they unpacked their stuff, both could hear soft footsteps growing louder and louder every second. "Miss Simian" they both thought and rushed to their seats just in time, with all of their friends snickering and giggling in the background.

The lesson had began, and it was geography.

Miss Simian loves to watch people suffer, especially Gumball. She will take any opportunity to ruin his day and make feel like an insignificant piece of toast. So when the boy a few minutes later got a question wrong on his test, she went full out ballistic and ranted on and on about how stupid he was, with all of his classmates secretly eves dropping on the conversation. "Yup... just another normal day at Elmore Junior High" thought Gumball and signed in relief as he continued the day in peace. (With the shoutings of a loud monkey teacher)

An hour has passed and the lesson is finally over, the bell somehow rings in excitement. Gumball is the first person to bolt out of the room and go into the cafeteria when break was happening.

There she was... Gumball stared at Penny Fitzgerald in her beautiful golden fairy form for minutes on end, daydreaming about their future as a couple. Gumball has had a massive crush on her ever since they were young kids,  Penny to be the same with the biggest crush on a clumsy, but adorable blue cat. Neither though have had the courage to express their feelings towards each other and Gumball feels as if it might never happen. Penny noticed this after a while, and when Gumball snapped back into reality he quickly turns his head back to the lunch lady, heart racing and blushing madly. Penny giggles and sits on an empty table. He could not contain the love for the girl he adored the most, and yet here she was, sitting by self without any friends. To Gumball, it seemed like the perfect time to strike...

He grabbed his lunch and sat down next to Penny. "Hey Penny, do you mind if I sit next to you?" asked Gumball. "N-no, not at all Gumball", she said with a light giggle and blush. There was silence for a few minutes before Gumball broke it and spoke out loud.

"So, uh, Penny, how have things been recently with your family and stuff?"

"Pretty good, I guess. It was a rough morning today I mean I had to walk my sister to preschool then help my dad then teach my mom why you don't take a broken mouse to the vet and-"

"Okay, I get the picture haha man you sure are busy eh?" interrupted Gumball.

"Yeah, it's just I feel like as if I'm being tossed and thrown like a rag doll like 'here do this' or 'here do that!'"

Yup, I can definitely relate since I'm one hell of a lazy guy. I mean I'm usually in my room playing Geometry Wars with Darwin everyday trying to ignore my responsibilities haha" blurted Gumball.

"Yeah.." said Penny in a soft voice". Another long silence happen when this time Penny broke it "Uh Gumball, can I ask you a question?"

"Sure, what is it?"

"Well, you know how prom is in less then 5 weeks, I-I was wondering if yo-"

Gumball blanks out, he didn't know it was prom, heck he didn't even know that there was a prom. 'Man maybe being that lazy did take a toll on me' he thought to himself.

When Gumball comes back into the real world, Penny is just finishing her sentence.

"So would you like to come?"

"Could you repeat that?, I wasn't paying attention" he stutters and scratch's his back as if nothing happened. Penny signs in a playful way and repeats what she said. "Like I was saying, prom is coming very soon and I was wondering if you'd like to, y'know, uh, be my date for the dance?" This time, she was blushing uncontrollably and wasn't able to hide it. Gumball gave a joyful grin and immediately said yes without hesitation. Penny smiled with those outstanding brown eyes and pearly white teeth and gave Gumball a tight bear hug which lasted quite a while. After that, the two broke the hug with Penny leaving Gumball in a rush with the most cutest smile on her face as she walked out and leaves the room.

The last subject of the day, and of course it needs to be math, ugh.

Gumball was seated with Darwin and was behind Penny, whom he could not stop staring at her beautiful body.

"Dude you've been looking at Penny for at least ten minutes now, come on man I wanna finish this so we can play video games after!"

Gumball completely ignores him and keeps staring at Penny Fitzgerald, the most cutest girl of the century.

"Gumball"

"..."

"Gumball!"

"......?"

"GUMBALL WATTERSON YOU ANSWER ME RIGHT NOW OR WE ARENT BROS"

That was the kick, and with a cherry a top as everyone, including Penny, gave Darwin an awkward look then to Gumball. When Miss Simian commentates "What in the world is that noise?!" The class quickly return to their work and acted as if nothing had happened.

Gumball was majorly embarrassed and was about to quietly scream and destroy Darwin when *ring ring*, the bell goes for the end of school. Gumball immediately rolls down his sleeves and rests his clutched fist. "You're lucky, for now..." said Gumball in a daunting voice. He leaves the room, with a petrified face on poor little Darwin's face.

The two walked home in silence, Darwin dares to try to speak to Gumball after what just happened. They arrive at home, unpacked their stuff, eat dinner and go to their bedroom to play some video games before bedtime. Gumball has forgiven Darwin about his actions earlier that day and their brotherhood has been fully restored.

An hour later...

The two get ready for bedtime and prepare to get cozy and warm within their covers. Well, except for Darwin who sleeps in a glass fish bowl.

A few more hours later...

Darwin is fast asleep, but Gumball is wide awake dreaming about Penny and their date. He can't wait for tomorrow to see Penny once more and see what may happen between the two and wether they will forever be in love or still just friends, with all these thoughts in mind, it sent Gumball straight to a deep sleep without a care in the world...
