Prologue

[Adams POV]

I wait for the doctors to come out and tell me what happened. It's nerve wrenching knowing that your wife is in the hospital. I sat in a chair and tapped my toes on the floor waiting for a doctor to tell me something.

Finally, after what seemed like ten hours, a doctor came out. "Is Alesa ok?" I asked.

"She's fine." He replied.

"Can I go see her?" I asked.

"Right this way."

He led me to one of the hospital rooms where Alesa was. She was holding two babies.

I walked over to Alesa and squeezed her shoulder.

"Hi Adam." She said looking at me with a tear stained face. Then she looked at the babies.

"They're twins. One boy, one girl." The nurse standing near by said.

"What should we name them?" Alesa asked.

"We should name the boy Jace." I said.

"And the girl Skylar." Alesa said looking at both of them.

'Skylar,' I thought, 'What a nice name.'

[Alesas POV]

I was wheeled out of the hospital in a wheelchair holding Skylar in my arms. She was so cute. Adam was holding Jace.

Neither of them had opened their eyes yet so I couldn't tell what color their eyes were. They were both the same size and height though, so that means they're probably identical.

The nurse wheeled me to our car and helped me into the front . The nurse wheeled the wheelchair back to the hospital

Adam put Jace in one of the car seats in the back. He came and took Skylar from my arms. He put her in the back with Jace and they slept happily.

[Adams POV]

It's been about a week since we brought Skylar and Jace home. They finally opened their eyes just last night and their eyes were bright blue. I thought it was a little strange since Alesa and my eyes's were both brown. Their eyes were still beautiful though.

Jace had dark brownish blackish hair and Skylar had light brown hair with natural blonde highlights. They were both cute.

"Adam! Come here!" Alesa shouted from upstairs.

"Coming!" I shouted back.

I ran up the stairs.

"In here Adam." Alesa said.

I turned to Skylar and Jace's room. I walked in and saw Alesa holding Skylar and Jace.

"Could you give me a hand." She said.

I took Jace from her arms and held him in my own.

"Adam, could you make breakfast?" Alesa asked.

I nod and head downstairs to make breakfast for our new family.

[Alesas POV]

Today is the twin's third birthday. They've learned how to say most words and they've learned how to walk.

Most of their hair has grown in and you can fully see Skylar's highlights and their blue eyes are bright.

Today, Adam and I woke up super early to set up the twins birthday party. They said they wanted a princess, dinosaur theme.

We decorated half the room with princess things and half the room with dinosaur things. We were going to have Skylar sit on the side with the princesses and have Jace sit on the side with the dinosaurs. They were going to have the best birthday ever.

"Mom? Dad?" I heard Skylar ask from upstairs.

I ran up the stairs and stepped into her room. "Happy birthday Skylar." I said.

"Thanks." She said in her cute little voice.

She wobbled out of bed and toward me. She came and hugged me. I hugged her back.

"Mom?" I heard Jace ask from the next room over.

I held Skylar's hand and walked into Jace's room. "Happy birthday Jace." We said together.

Jace waddled out of bed and held my other hand.

We all walked into the living room to see Adam watching the news. I let the twins run to the kitchen while I went and talked to Adam.

"What's up?" I asked

"The government switched to totalitarianism after the new president. The people rose up against them." Adam said.

"Oh my god." I said.

I looked over at the kitchen. "Let's not tell the twins till they're 13." I said. And that was the end of that.
