They say when you find your soul mate and you embrace for the first time your colors combine and make a beautiful creation that only the two of you can see. No one else can see these colors or the colors you have before that. Everyone is born with their own special color that changes once you meet the right person. It's just something special that the two of you can cherish together forever. The only thing is its hard to find the one and sometimes you never do. Sometimes you just marry someone your good friends with because you're afraid of being alone. Sometimes you lock yourself away because you think you'll never find them or if you do that, you're not good enough for them. That they would be disappointed with the soul mate they have found. Those are the sad stories, the ones that ended badly. You don't need to find the one to be happy some just see it that way. There are some good stories too. Stories of people finding the one and it's always a grand love. These people live happily with the one they found. It's always a journey to find the one that you want to be together with.

Matthew had just entered college and it was really tough on him. He wasn't the most out going person so he really didn't make many friends. He mainly just stayed in his dorm that he shared with his brother and went to his classes. His parents had paid good money for him to go to college and he was going to focus on it.

Matthew's color reflected his shy personality, it was a pale blue. People could only see their own colors as they were like an aura that stayed around them. You couldn't really see it but you knew it was there. Someone may also be able to see their own color if they closed their eyes and relaxed. Besides that, no one could see it until you found your soul mate.

Matthew wasn't really concerned about this. He had way to much work to worry about and things to do.

Gilbert was a rebellious child. His parents tried to chain him in by sending him to college but that didn't really work. It only gave him more friends and bigger areas to do stupid stuff in. The only reason he had agreed with going to the college was so he could get away from his parents. It had accomplished that but now he sat wasting his days away; drinking and partying and not doing his school work. He barely went to class why should he have to do the work.

His color was a vibrant red like his wild soul. It could not be tamed. He believed that the color thing was a bunch of shit and he rather sleep around with as many people as he could. It was more fun that way. All his friends did it too so why shouldn't he.

Now Gilbert might have acted all big and bad, but really, he had a caring heart. He just didn't like to show it. He had been raised right even if he was rebelling now, it was just because his parents were strict. He would help anyone he could as long as no one saw him do it.
