Hello again!

Fun fact: I wanted to make Jolene act how typical mob men act, stubborn, rude and violent. And make Gianni be the sensitive one because I'm not too big on sensitive females that are drawn to danger. Jolene is the the d*mn danger 💁🏾‍♀️.

Anyways enjoy!

Progressive.

If there was one word Gianni could use to describe his living conditions, that would be it.

He didn't change the way he treated Jolene that much because he didn't want to get his hopes up, but it really seemed as if she was willing to try.

She was more patient and not as aggressive. He could tell she was really trying. He hoped it wasn't so that he would have sex with her. So far it seemed genuine.

After telling her about his brother and the issues he's been having, he felt a little more open and trusting with her. Jolene even seemed a little more affectionate. She would hug him a little longer and couldn't sit far away from him without their bodies touching. At one point they were almost cuddling but Gianni didn't want to mention it in case she would stop.

Catelina tried to call the house again but to no avail. Angelo and Jolene had an unspoken agreement that the house was a Catelina free-zone.

Jolene may not like Angelo but she grew used to him. But it's not surprising she wasn't a fan. They both had big personalities that just so happened to be polar opposites. Angelo was too outgoing for Jolene's taste.

Speaking of Angelo, Gianni and him were currently working on pay day for his employees. The reason Gianni kept the mafia alive was because so many families depended on it for their income. He flipped it to something more legal but made sure everyone got their fair share and knew how to defend themselves.

The trade was over and done with by the Bostonian Italians. Gianni would never have a child go through what he and so any other children went through.

"So how long until the big day?" Angelo pepped up. Gianni blushed. "10 weeks now."

"Wow I can't believe you're going to be a father. I mean I called it, granted I said it was going to be with Cat but still you are now a father regardless."

Gianni rolled his eyes. "That's how I felt when you got Francesca pregnant you immature swine."

Angelo scowled. He loved his daughter but impregnating that gold digger was the biggest mistake of his life.

"You're lucky Jo has big bucks, your son won't know what a gold digging woman is until he is older. The only issue your kid will face will be racism." Gianni tilted his head confused.

"Please don't tell me you forgot your lover was black." Angelo laughed.

"First of all how are you going to assume that my child is a boy. And obviously I know she's black." Gianni scoffed.

"Gianni look at Jolene for a good minute. Think that hard a** woman is going to be mothering girls?" Angelo laughed. "If you were having girls you would be the mother."

Gianni rolled his eyes. "Back to what you're saying about Jolene being black.."

"Blacks and whites aren't supposed mix in this country to some people so your kid might get some backlash."

Gianni inhaled. He had thought about prior. But all he could say is what could they even do about that? Was he that careless about what Jo might face? What his kid might face? Granted Italians were also disliked by Americans but they got by because of their European features he wondered how Jolene dealt with it. Sometimes he forgot the world didn't see like how he saw her.
