Gold was born in the Liblicen, or later Sorcerer Kingdom, to parents who both happened to be magic users. It was time before the Zemrlt had gained full control of the continent. Sorcerers were still fighting them for control.
Gold's father was one of the most powerful sorcerers going against the Zemrlt. He knew that they we're loosing, and needed something stronger to fight back. His only child was born soon after. This was exactly what he needed to win the war. It was simple; the sorcerer would fracture his son's soul into three pieces. With the magic disconnected from the mind and body, his son's magic would be able to grow to an immense level of power. It made perfect sense to him to preform the risky operation.
Gold's father failed. Instead of three pieces, he fractured his son's soul into six chunks. A soul doesn't heal like the body can. In so many pieces, Gold's magic, mind, and body could not work with each other. One would say that he wasn't even self aware for most of his early life. Gold would remain still for hours. They could only follow that most basic and simple of instructions with minimal success. But his magic was strong. So strong, in fact, that his body could not contain the buildup. It pooled from his eyes in a golden glow. His father still hopped to harness that raw power.
After years and years, Gold still showed no signs of sentience. His father became frustrated with them and the failing war. He was done protecting the broken puppet that Gold's mother died to birth. In a fit of rage, he completely shattered Gold's fractured soul. They didn't die like they were supposed to. The magic in Gold's body was so strong, that it kept the individual pieces of Gold's soul alive. The magic even allowed them to all become operational without each other. All the six peices remember were each other and the cruel treatment from their father.
They didn't mean to kill him. They didn't mean to light the massive estate on fire. Their mistakes allowed the Zemrlt to finally seize control of the continent. The six quickly learned that they were still very much part of one another. They could still be Gold when the we're together, but not like before. Gold's shattered soul had survived and learned how to work with each other. They now had six different sets of minds and thoughts contend with. Gold's body was still incapable of preforming magic, but they were as strong as six people combined. Their individual pieces were also much stronger, and could share their strength amongst each other. Gold's original magic grew weak in each of his fragments, but it granted them one ability; teleportation.
Gold left his home continent. They felt no attachment to their old home, and longed to find somewhere better.
Gold found more war. This time, they didn't feel like running. They might not have existed for very long, but some part of Gold's fractured prices had always been watching and listening to their father. Gold wanted to make things better. They wanted to protect others that weren't like them.
After Gold's fragments united the kingdom of GoldenEye, under Kong Matt who named the continent as such, they traveled on. Their fragments' teleportation resulted in finding a third continent. Kyladia was the last safe heaven for the mobs that fled the wars. Zombies, spiders, and other night terrors found peace here. Only one human settlement existed there.
This land is where Gold's fragments finally deteriorated. Their magic couldn't save them forever, but the energy didn't just disappear. Something that powerful didn't die with the body. Gold's magic became dormant, and laid in wait until it's master had need of it.
And they did. The magic tenants kept a soul fragment bound to earth, and sealed in a mechanical vessel. If five fragments were alive, the sixth must also live. It would be millions of years until Gold would once again be reunited.
