Captain of the football team, beautiful girlfriend, caring family. Yup, I guess you could say "I had it all". Do I agree? Most definitely. Until everything happened. I'll never forget it..

So yeah, I was this normal 17 year old boy who was just living his life. "What happened?" You may ask. Well, I'll tell you.

I lived in a small town in Wisconsin. I LOVED my friends, my family, my girlfriend. But who I loved even more? My brother. My 6 year old little brother. Older siblings usually don't get along with younger siblings, but with me and him, it wasn't like that. I loved that little guy. He was like a part of me. We'd always play together, and I'd always pick him up from school and we'd go eat ice cream.

Besides that I was doing great at school, my grades were really good, and I was the captain of the football team. It was my senior year and the changed were really high I was going to get a scholarship to play football. My family, friends and girlfriend were so supportive and loving. I couldn't ask for anything better.. Everyday I would be practicing football, doing my homework, hanging out with my friends, playing with my little brother, etc.

One day, there was this big game coming up. Not only was it the championships, but I also heard that there was going to be someone from a college to see us play. I knew, that if I would play beyond AMAZING that game, I would most definitely get a scholarship, and someday be a professional football player. Everything I ever wanted as a kid. So from that day on, I started practicing really hard. Everyday, 4-5 hours. On weekends even from the morning untill night. Football became my top priority. I dedicaded my life to it.

So the big game started to come closer. I hung out less with my friends & little brother, but that was only because I wanted this so bad!

My dad once had an opportunity like this.. But then my mom got pregnant with me (at my age) and he had to live everything behind. His dreams, his teenage life, college.. My dad had to work EXTRA hard to support his family, and I appreciate, but I'm not going to make the same mistake..

I was willing to do whatever it takes to get that scholarship. It would change everything.
