Chapter 18

Thursday
Demi's pov
I woke up to my alarm clock blaring and saw that it was ten thirty which means we slept in a little longer then we were supposed to because we have a long seven hour drive ahead of us to Charlotte North Carolina. I put my phone down and looked at nick and smiled to myself because I was still in awe that after everything we have gone through I get to call him my amazing husband, I leaned over and gave him kisses on his arm, neck and chest until I kissed him on the lips and he woke up and kissed me back.

Nick: you know I can get used to waking up like this every morning (kisses her on the lips)
Demi: me too (smiles)
Nick: what time is it though?
Demi: ten
Nick: ugh I was hoping we could have a little time to do this (straddles her and kisses her on the neck)
Demi: I wish but we have a long drive ahead of us and we need to do last minute packing
Nick: (groans) fine your right I guess I'll go wake the girls
Demi: okay and I am going to jump in the shower
Nick: maybe I'll join you (smirks)
Demi: haha you wish
(Demi and nick get out of bed and Demi walks towards the bathroom while nick walks into the girls room and turns the lights on)
Tina: (mumbles) turn it off
Nick: can't do that time to get up girls
Alena: (whines) whyyyy
Nick: because we have to eat and get on the road
Clare: don't want too (pulls the sheets over her head)
Tina: (mumbles) to tired
Alena: (rolls to the opposite side so she isn't facing the door)
Nick: come on girls don't make me say it again it's time to wake up
(The girls stay sleeping)
Nick: alright fine I am going to come back in ten minutes and if your not up, you won't like the consequences
(Nick walks towards the kitchen and starts making coffee when joe and Sophia walk out)
Sophia: good morning (yawns)
Joe: morning bro
Nick: morning
(Kevin and Dani walk out)
Dani: I thought I smelled coffee
Nick: yeah I just started making some
Joe: where are the girls?
Nick: getting ready I hope
Joe: you want me to check on them?
Nick: sure
(Joe leaves the kitchen and walks to the girls room to see they are still sleeping)
Joe: didn't nick come in here and tell you girls to wake up?
(The girls pull the sheets over their head)
Joe: I am going to count to three and I want you girls up 1... 2... 3 (walks over to Tina and pulls the sheets off and does the same with Alena and Clare)
Girls: what the hell!!!!
Joe: language and lose the attitude or your morning is going to get a lot worse, now get up and get ready (walks out of the room)
Clare's pov
I looked at the blanket that was now on the floor, I could just curl into a ball and go back to sleep or just get up. I looked at Alena and Tina who pulled their sheets from the floor and covered themselves and went back to sleep so instead of crawling into a ball I climbed down from the bunk bed and lied on the opposite end of Alena's bed and curled myself under the sheets and closed my eyes.

Ten more minutes later
Kevin: where are those girls?
Joe: I told them to get up
Kevin: I'll go check on them
(Walks into the room and sees them still sleeping so he pulls the sheets off of Tina)
SPANK
Tina: (eyes open) what was that for!?
Kevin: your uncle nick and joe came in here twice to tell you to wake up and you didn't listen now this is the last time we are coming in and telling you get up now
Tina: fine (gets off the couch and rubs her bottom) you didn't have to spank me though
Kevin: it got you up didn't it
Tina: yeah yeah (walks to her suitcase and Kevin walks over to Alena and Clare)
SPANK SPANK
girls: ow!!!
Clare: why did you do that uncle Kevin?
Kevin: for the same reason I told Tina now I want you three girls in the kitchen in the next ten minutes or you won't like the consequences understand?
Girls: yes sir
Kevin: good (walks out of the room)
Clare: so much for a good morning
Alena: I know
Tina: I am feeling annoyed and agitated today
Clare: me too
Alena: me three, today's not going to be good that's for sure
Clare: well we have a seven hour car ride we can just sleep through it
Tina: there's no way I am sleeping seven hours straight
Clare: fine then five either way we should probably just get up
Alena: fineee
Clare's POV
I walked over to my suitcase and grabbed my road trip outfit which was my pink and white sweatpants with a grey long sleeve shirt. Alena wore light blue sweatpants with a white long sleeve shirt and Tina wore purple sweatpants with a pink long sleeve shirt and we all wore sneakers and kept our hair down, we made sure that we had everything in our suitcase and walked into the kitchen.

Dani: good morning girls
Alena: (mumbles) I wish it was
Sophia: did you say something honey?
Alena: huh? No I just said morning
Sophia: oh okay
(Tina and Clare sit at the counter)
Demi: we are in a rush today so just have cereal
Girls: okay
Clare: is it okay if I just have a banana instead?
Joe: just a banana?
Clare: yeah that's what I said didn't i?
Joe: lose the attitude and I would like for you to have the banana with something else
Clare: you want me too but does that mean I have to?
Nick: yes it does now have the cereal or the banana with something else
Clare: fine how about a yogurt?
Nick: fine
Clare: okay (walks over to the fridge and grabs a yogurt with a banana and sits on the counter)
Clare's pov
I really don't want to eat the banana or the yogurt but they are all out here and it's going to be hard to pretend to eat a banana. I can fake the yogurt by just putting the spoon in the yogurt and doing it over again and the banana is healthy so I might as well just suck it up but if it were up to me I probably wouldn't eat anything. At eleven we finished eating and the boys put the suitcases in the car and us girls sat in the back and went on our phones, I was using my coloring app when my phone vibrated and i saw Grayson and Ethan texted on our own chat that we had.

Ethan: hey Ricky told us what went down he's an asshole are you okay?
Clare: I am fine
Grayson: you want to make him jealous again
Clare: haha no thanks I don't think that would work, I am just going to leave it alone
Ethan: probably for the best he doesn't deserve you anyway
Grayson: yeah
Clare: thanks for saying that guys but I am not sure maybe if I was prettier he would
Grayson: don't even think about finishing that sentence you are gorgeous and if he doesn't see it that's his loss
Clare: you guys have to say that because you see me as your little sister
Ethan: no we mean it Clare you just don't see it in yourself
Clare: how can I see it when everyone else around me says different?
Grayson: are you talking about the haters?
Clare: yeah
Ethan: don't listen to them they are just jealous because they don't have the lifestyle you do
Clare: if that's the case why are they so nice to my cousins but so hateful towards me? There must be something I am doing wrong, like I know I am not the best behaved but come on I am also a teenager and I want to have fun if anything that should make me more relatable
Grayson: I can't tell you why they hate on you just like I don't know why people hate on Ethan and I but I can tell you that they are not worth listening to you just need to ignore it
Clare: I guess
Ethan: where are you headed to next?
Clare: North Carolina
Grayson: when are you going to be back in LA?
Clare: I think it's supposed to be for the five feet apart premiere since Cole invited us which should be Saturday
Ethan: okay we'll let us know we want to take you out for the day
Clare: okay I'll keep you guys posted
Grayson: alright later Clare
Clare: byee

Three hours later
Tina: are we almost there?
Demi: no Tina
Alena: how much longer?
Sophia: four more hours
Clare: ugh are we going to stop soon?
Kevin: we just stopped an hour ago
Clare: but we are bored
Joe: play on your phones or listen to some music, stop acting like little kids
Tina: but playing on our phone is boring let's play a game
Nick: okay what do you have in mind?
Alena: oh there's this game that we play at camp it's called guess the character
Clare: sounds better then nothing how do you play?
Alena: I'll go easy for the first round, I am think of a Disney character that's blue and is an alien
Tina: stitch obviously
Alena: yeah so that's one point
Clare: okay I am thinking of a character that's a red little dragon and is in a Disney movie
Dani: Mushu from Mulan
Nick: okay I got one I am thinking of a video game character that has a red hat and defeats a bad guy named bowser
Joe: Mario duh
Alena: okay you guys get the idea now let's go harder this time we can't say what movie they are from we just need to describe it
Clare: okay I am thinking of a werewolf who was supposed to be an alpha and imprinted on a vampire
Tina: Jacob from twilight that was easy!
Alena: yeah but good try
A couple more rounds later
Clare: okay this is getting boring now
Tina: I agree what else is there?
Alena: there's another one we did called let's keep the rhythm going
Joe: how do you play?
Alena: okay this ones a bit more fun but basically we are supposed to hit your leg obviously not that hard but just so there's sound and then you clap and snap your fingers while saying your name and the other person's name and then that person has to go
Tina: oh I remember this one! Let's show them
Alena: okay I'll start (hits her thigh) let's keep the rhythm going (claps and snaps her fingers) Alena, Tina
Tina: (hits her thigh) (claps and snaps her fingers) Tina, Clare
Clare: (hits her thigh, claps and snaps her fingers) Clare, Demi
Demi: (repeats the same thing)
Kevin: (driving) what's the point of the game though?
Alena: every round your supposed to increase speed so we have the first round done, second round is supposed to be faster and if you forget a step your out
Kevin: oh okay
Clare's pov
We played the game for a good twenty minutes and then it started getting boring, I was feeling kind of tired anyways so I messed up on purpose so I could be out and I put my head on the small pillow and closed my eyes and fell asleep.

Sophia: okay I think I am done
Joe: Haha Clare's been done (looks over at her and sees she's sleeping)
Nick: what time did you girls go to bed last night?
Tina: you don't want to know
Demi: did you stay up after we got back?
Alena: well we tried to go to sleep but then we couldn't so we gave up and started watching Netflix
Kevin: that explains why you guys didn't want to get up this morning
Tina: I am still tired
Joe: then get some sleep we still have three hours to go
Tina: (yawns) okay
Alena: I think I'll try and sleep too
(The girls close their eyes and fall asleep)
Dani: so how long are we going to be here again?
Kevin: just today and tomorrow because we have the five feet apart premiere on Saturday so we should actually fly out tomorrow night after the concert
Joe: you already confirmed with Cole that we are going to be there?
Kevin: yeah
Nick: it's going to be a crazy couple of days
Kevin: yeah
Joe: do we have anything to do tonight?
Kevin: no once we get to the hotel that's it we are going to order room service and rest for the night
Nick: good
Joe: Kevin the next stop we'll switch places
Kevin: okay
Three hours later
Joe: girls wake up we are here
(Clare, Alena and Tina open their eyes and rub them)
Tina: what time is it?
Nick: six o clock
Clare: okay
(They Park in the valet and someone comes with the luggage cart and they start to put their suitcases on top and Sophia goes to check in)
Clare's POV
We got into the rooms around six thirty it was nick, demi and I in one room, joe and Sophia in the second and Kevin and Dani with the girls in the third. We decided to all take a shower and regroup in Kevin's room to have dinner and watch a movie, I'll admit this morning didn't start off to great but after sleeping in the car I think we all felt much better. After showering we walked into Kevin's room and I sat with the girls on their bed.

Nick: any good movie ideas?
Tina: how about the new Mary poppins movie?
Joe: that's a classic so I am okay with it
Kevin: me too
Sophia: I have always loved Mary poppins
Demi: me too
Dani: alright then let's rent it
Nick: but before let's look on the menu for what to eat
Clare: dad I am not really hungry tonight can I skip dinner tonight?
Demi: when have we ever let you skip a meal?
Clare: never but please I really don't want to eat right now, my stomach's telling me not to force it
Joe: is there something your not telling us?
Clare: no I am just not feeling it tonight
Nick: well you can't just skip dinner you need to have something in your stomach all you have had was a banana and cereal because we skipped lunch
Kevin: that's right we did skip lunch
Nick: yeah no Clare your eating unless you need to tell us something
Clare: never mind I'll look at the menu (grabs the menu and looks at it)
Alena's pov
Okay now I am starting to worry, should I tell uncle nick and aunt Demi that Clare didn't eat the waffles yesterday or the soup I bet she didn't even eat the yogurt, but what if I am wrong? What if she really just isn't hungry then I am going to make an assumption that probably isn't even necessary. Her body is probably just telling her it's not hungry she would never purposely starve herself, would she?

Tina: do you want to split the chicken tenders with me? They come with seven so I am probably not going to eat all of it
Clare: yeah that sounds good
Tina: okay
(They order the room service and start watching the movie and then the food comes, so they pause the movie to get the food and then sit down and start watching the movie)
Clare's POV
Tina and I sat next to each other and I looked over at the food and for some reason it made me feel sick to my stomach, I really didn't want to eat but since I am sharing with Tina I can just grab one and a couple fries and then go next door and get rid of it.

Ten minutes later
Tina: are you sure you don't want the last one Clare?
Clare: yeah I am sure you can have it (takes a fry and puts it in her mouth)
Tina: (whispers) but you have only had two
Clare: trust me Tina I am fine just eat it (takes a sip of her coke)
Tina: okay if you say so (grabs the chicken tender)
Clare: I'll be right back I think I left my phone next door (gets off the bed)
Joe: do you want us to pause the movie for you?
Clare: no it's okay it'll only take a second
Joe: okay
(Clare walks out of the room and goes next door)
Clare's POV
I walked into the bathroom and turned on the sink just in case they could somehow hear me and I cringed because I can't believe I am about to do this again but it's the only way I am going to get the fans to finally accept me and I'll look prettier so I walked over to the toilet and stuck my fingers down my throat and purged. By the time I was done I flushed the toilet and I washed my hands and rinsed my mouth, I also washed my face because my eyes looked red from crying. Once I felt like I cleaned myself up I walked back to Kevin's room and sat with the girls.

Demi: you okay honey?
Clare: yeah I am fine (looks at the tv)
Demi: okay
(The movie finishes and they say goodnight to each other and walk to their separate rooms, Clare walks over to her bed and goes to sleep while nick and Demi lay in theirs)
Nick: what are you thinking about babe?
Demi: hmm
Nick: you have been quiet since the movie, what are you thinking about?
Demi: honestly Clare
Nick: why?
Demi: she's acting weird don't you think? I mean first she doesn't want to eat anything today and then she wants to share with Tina
Nick: yeah but she ate at least, do you think she did something after?
Demi: I noticed her eyes were red but I don't know maybe they were irritated from lack of sleep
Nick: babe I am sure she's fine and if she wasn't she would tell us okay? I trust that she would come to us if she really needed to
Demi: I know but I get worried, I don't want her to go through what I went through
(Nick kisses her on the lips)
Nick: she won't, she'll talk to us if it ever gets that bad okay?
Demi: okay
Nick: I love you
Demi: I love you too (snuggles into his chest)
Nick: goodnight
Demi: night
(They kiss one more time and then fall asleep)
