Chapter 8; My Crazy Dysfunctional Family at CHB

After getting that all off her young mind. Raven found herself much more calm and steady minded. Or perhaps that was all simply because Hestia was seated right next to her in a hug. Raven pulled away from the hug with a shy expression. "Um...well...Miss Hestia?" Hestia blinked smiling widely at the adorable demigoddess before her. "Yes? What is it? You may ask of me anything."

Raven turned a little rosy in color. The dusty pink shade nearly glowing like a beacon on her otherwise pale skin. "W-well...may I call you Aunt Hestia..?" She questioned meekly and uncertain.

The Goddess of Hearth and Home was positively stunned but felt joy flourish within her bright and cheerful. "Oh! I'd love you to do so!" Hestia chirped excitedly throwing her arms once again around the girl. Hugging tightly and simply squealing as if she was Aphrodite herself.

Raven smiled and relaxed melting into the embrace once more with the loveable goddess.

Soon though Raven found it was perhaps time to head back to that large house. She still knew next to nothing of the most basics of basics regarding regulations, rules, today's society and speech, and most jarring inventions and everyday household products- even clothing is a baffling subject for her! And by god- um...gods she was embarrassed by herself and the high probability of making an absolute fool of herself in front of potential friends.

After a small walk, pleasant and sweet conversations with tree nymphs and very young satyrs. Raven was inside the house and once more standing before Mr. D and Chiron who were in the midst of a type of card game. She stood to the side waiting patiently for them to finish.

Much discipline and teachings schooled her to stand perfectly still and rigid not making a peep until noticed. Though that never stopped her ADHD mind from running to strange topics or from her eyes to wander and fuel her roaming conscious.

About ten or so minutes later Chiron took a glance over and looked startled seeing her standing there patiently. "Now, young Raven! How long were you simply standing over there child? Come over, what is it that you need?" Mr. D huffed and set his cards down materializing a metallic cylinder of some type that was a bright red and took a sip of it after popping the top.

"If I may request mister Chiron. Could you first teach me the basics of this era before I am to meet the other campers? I feel awfully embarrassed and ashamed to not know what they all would consider basic knowledge," Raven requested blushing a little as she struggled with words to conform to their way of less England proper speech. It was already a struggle to not say thou, whom, thy, or thee for example.

Chiron looked over the child and closed his eyes. "Of course child, come we will start now. History then we shall go over day to day things in this era." Chiron told her softly. Turning to look at Dionysus and laying down his winning hand. "We will continue another game later on Mr. D." Dionysus snorted, glaring at the hand and groaned "Fine fine. Just go on already. I'm tired of you both."

Chiron looked at the god amused and half bowed before going over to Raven. Leading her to another room. Raven was obedient and followed behind.
