I stepped off the ship behind her. The breeze on this dead planet was a chilling reminder of the slaughter that had taken place here. Ashlynn seem oblivious, the white dress whipped behind her in the wind. She gracefully reached down into the Ashes they fell through her fingers. I felt my eyes were betraying me, I moved closer and watched as the Ashes fell to the ground as clean sand. "What the hell?" I mumbled. A small giggle passed her lips. "I'm a restorer. I bring life from death." She told me. I laughed at her. She shot me a firece glare. "Something funny, Richard?" She asked. Shaking my head I threw my hands out in defense. "You're not that shy, self loathing, pitiful person anymore." "Okay Riddick, I get it." She scorned. "Easy, I just meant. Its silly how low you thought of yourself." I explained.

She blew her bangs up and smiled. "Yeah, Who knew death brought such wonderful gifts. Guess i'm lucky you fell for me or Else I'd still be a dead loser huh?" She joked. "Fell for you huh? You started this love thing." I taunted. "Didn't you know, Riddick. I was made to tear you apart." Her words resounded in my ears. "That's what you're doing? Tearing me apart?" I raised an eyebrow. Ashlynn stood up and nuzzled her nose against my chest. "I'm out to tame your animal side." "Tame? Me? I doubt that." I scoffed at her. "Oh really? Did you not set off on a journey to bring me back from the dead?" She said. "Owed you one." I replied.

Ashlynn rolled her eyes at me. She knew better she was right in a way, when I held her I almost felt human.

Her hand touched the ground it glowed blue again and the dead soil came back to life. "Will it be this easy to bring back my people?" I asked. She shrugged sadly. "I don't know. I just follow my body's lead."She gave me an apologetic smile. "At least you're trying." I mumbled. "Riddick a great injustice was done to the Fuyan people. I must do what is necessary to restore balance." Her gaze floated over to the thousands of unmarked graves to the west. "Does it hurt?" Her head snapped back at me. "Does what hurt Riddick?" "Coming back to life?" I asked. "I can't remember, but its slighly painful to restore." She mumbled, rubbing her palm. "How bad is slightly?" "I can live through it." Her reassurance fell flat. "I won't let you if its a danger to your well being." I argued.

Ashlynn placed her hand on a cross, her face bearing her pain. I watched in silence as grass sprouted up in a wave and from it men and women emerged. Big men, covered in tattoos, some still in their armor and halmets. These men, like earth Spartans, were bred to be warriors. Not a frail person in the sea of people. A familiar face stood out, she smiled at my while tears poured down her Rosy cheeks. "Riddick. You've avenged your people." Shirah spoke. The crowd stared at me. A cheerful roared thousands of murdered Furyan stood before me fully restored thanks to Ashlynn.

I looked around for her. She wasn't kneeling by the graves anymore. She had curled up in the new grass, exhausted and obviously in pain. I hurried to her side. "Ashlynn." I shook her gently. "Mighty breed, Furyan. Looks like you're not the last one anymore." Her voice was weak and cracking. "Furyans and shapeshifters never did get a long." I heard over my shoulder. I eyed him suspiciously. "You know what she is?" I asked. He nodded. He was tall, 6'2". Well built but not as wide as myself and with a darker tan. His black hair was tied back in braids that hung just below his broad shoulder. "Before the slaughter, there were whispers of a hybrid child. One so powerful life and death laid in its hands. Our leaders feared this so much that we, killed every living this on that planet. She wasn't on the planet, she was hidden away in a castle on Helium Prime, of course. They pasted her off as a human. They too feared her powers. It is difficult to predict the soul of someone. Especially someone born under a cloth of hatrd" "Who are you?" I asked. "I am Holden. I held a place at elders table." He answered. "You were responsible for the deaths of her family." I scolded quietly, I didnt want her to find out. "We all we're. Had you been old enough you would have thought it was necessary." Holden sounded like he didn't have faith in his own words. "Riddick. Rebuilding Furya will take decades but we owe our rebirth to her. We'd like to help her regain her energy and the first home built will be hers." He offered. I blinked at him. "We never discussed anything further than this. She finds out about her own kinds demise, she may not want to remain here."
