"Cliff?" I heard my name being called multiple times before I answered to it.

"What?" I whispered sharply.

"It's 6.30, get up." I recognised the voice as Millie, our house maid as my bedroom door closed with a slight bang.

I groaned, but slung my legs over the side of my bed. I picked up my phone, fumbling with it until I unlocked it and checked my messages. I also checked twitter before undressing myself out of my pyjamas, which were an AC/DC band tee and plaid pyjama pants, climbing into the shower and and letting the warm water fall onto me.

After my shower, I got dressed into my bleached skinny jeans and a baby blue tank top. As it was quite chilli today, I threw on my favourite hoodie, it was navy and was also from AC/DC band merch.

I tucked my phone into my pocket and slipped on my vans before engulfing a huge bowl of Cheerios and driving to school.

I liked school. I was good at work and it was very social to me. I excelled in most of my subjects and was the captain of the polo and hockey team.

I was greeted in the reception by Ms. Greene, the vice principal. I waved at her and gave a genuine smile. She had asked me to meet her here and help with some exchange students as I was head girl in senior year. Behind her were around 10 boys and 10 girls. The girls kept to themselves and the boys grouped together. I was relieved because most girls in this school were all over any boy when they got the chance and vice versa. Not me though.

"Everybody," Ms. Greene started, pulling me to her left and staring directly at the exchange students, "this is Cliff Mendes. She is head girl in senior year and she will be your guide for the school year." I smiled at all the students. I had agreed to this job at the end of May when I graduated from junior year. It was now a few months into the new school year and students had just come back from Halloween break. These exchange students had just arrived from a few different schools spread over Sydney Australia and they would be attending my school for seven months until school ended in May.

Ms. Greene handed each of the students maps of the school and timetables of their classes and left me alone with them.

I didn't know what to do. "Emm, any questions?" I asked, as Ms. Greene hadn't asked it.

I heard a few mumbles and a 'yeah, are you single?' But I ignored it. One boy raised his hand. He wore a grey hoodie zipped up to the nape of his neck and jet black skinny jeans. His name tag said 'Ashton'.

I pointed at him and he began to speak.

"When does the first class start again?" He asked, his accent was gorgeous and thick.

"Eight," I looked at my phone, which was in my left hand. "So 45 minutes. Do you know where your lockers are?" There was shakes of heads and mumbles of no's so I lead them down a corridor, nicknamed The Dark Hall as everyone believed it was haunted. I didn't tell the exchange students that, I didn't want to freak them out and they would find out sooner or later.

I showed everyone where their lockers were and headed to my own, telling the exchange students I'd see them around. They all seemed nice enough.

I met Rhys outside our locker room. We had been best friends since Kindergarten. We made our way into the stuffed locker room and dropped our bags to the floor. We had lockers next to each other since his name was Rhys Matthews. He struck conversation as he opened his locker.

"Are you going to polo after school?" he asked, packing his school bag with biology books.

"Yes and then I have Athletics so you can't come round today, sorry." I looked down into my bag figuring out what subject I had first: double music. That was fine to start out a week.
