Kageyama Tobio x Reader:


“Achoo!”

Kageyama sneezed and sniffed. His eyes flickered left and right looking for a tissue. You pulled one out from the tissue box and handed it to him. His eyes dilated for a second before returning back to normal. He lowered his gaze to the floor and took the tissue shyly. Kageyama flinched as his fingers touched yours. He mumbled an apology before abruptly turning around to blow his nose. You smiled at him and then sat on the bench to sort out paperwork.

“(y/n) did you finish?”

Shimizu approached you. You nodded your head and handed the stack to her.

“Thank you for letting me help out”

Shimizu blinked and looked a bit confused as she replied back, “No…actually thank you.”

She let out a sigh and held onto the paper tightly before turning towards the boys who were diligently practicing in the gym. You looked as well and found yourself staring at a certain grump. He quickly tossed to Hinata and muttered something under his breath. You frowned. He’s probably not satisfied with the way he tossed.

“To be honest…this would have taken me a week to finish” Shimizu admitted.

You gave her a salute and grinned, “I’m glad to be of service!”

Before she could reply back, a volleyball rolled over to you and tapped your feet. You picked it up and saw Kageyama looking at you. You pointed to the ball and he nodded his head.

“I’ll be back…I wonder what Kageyama wants” you pondered and then jogged over to him with the ball in your arms.

“Could you watch me toss the ball” he asked.

Hinata covered his mouth and laughed, earning a death glare from Kageyama.

“You’re too obvious” Hinata laughed.

Kageyama jabbed him in the stomach and turned to look at you.

“Sure…I guess?”

He turned towards Hinata and warned him not to miss the ball. You threw the ball up in the air for Kageyama and he tossed it to Hinata. His form and toss was accurate and beyond perfection.

“W-What was that just now?” you said slowly, trying to take in what you just saw.

“Our new weapon” they both said.

“So what do you think-”

“ACHOO!”

Hinata jumped away from him and whispered, ”Kageyama is sick.”

Kageyama sniffed and glared at him.

“I’m not sick-”

He sneezed once more, making Hinata laugh and roll on the floor. You handed him another tissue, which he took gratefully.  

“Thank you”

“Wow the King is saying ‘thank you’ to his lady friend” Tsukishima teased.

Kageyama glared at the blonde and gave one good blow in the crumbled tissue before tossing it into the air to Tsukishima. It landed perfectly onto Tsukishima’s curly hair. You let out a laugh and held your stomach.

“Nice toss” Tanaka yelled and smacked Kageyama’s back. You gave him a pat on his shoulder and ruffled his hair. Tsukishima looked at Kageyama bitterly and used his fingers to pull the snot tissue out of his hair.

Tsukishima: 0
Kageyama: 1

Kageyama smirked.

After practice ended you helped put away the volleyballs and waited for Shimizu. She was running a bit late. Normally she would be the one waiting for you. You wondered why she was taking such a long time.

“(y/n),” Shimizu called out as she ran to you. “I’m sorry something came up and I have to stay at school.”

“Oh…it’s okay” You said and smiled.

You trudged away after she left and walked out of the entrance by yourself.

“Hey” Someone said, catching your attention.

You turned around and beamed.

“Hi Kageyama-kun!”

You walked side by side with him and listened to his complains. He suddenly sneezed and coughed. You patted his back and took off your scarf. You placed it gently around his neck, making his face heat up in embarrassment.

“W-What?” He sputtered.

“We don’t want our number one setter to get sick before the game” You said with a grin and tugged his hand to walk.

“Thank you” He murmured and breathed in the faint floral scent from your scarf. You looked up and smiled softly.

“You’re welcome” you whispered and held onto his hand.

You felt him hesitate before intertwining his fingers with yours. You squeezed his hand reassuringly and felt him give you a light squeeze back. He looked down and noticed that your small hand fit perfectly in his.

‘Small and delicate’ he thought.

The corners of his mouth lifted up slightly.
