Catching Up

Klaus pulled into a parking garage and pointed to the apartment building across the street. "I live in the top." he said with a smile.

"Nice maybe if I'm lucky I'll fall out the window." I whispered.

"I heard that Lucy and If you didn't want to come you didn't have too." he said.

"Well currently you are the only person I have." I told him.

Klaus looked at me and smiled before we both got out of the car.

I walked into his penthouse it was amazing.

"So Lucy what have you been doing for the past 90 years?" He asked.

"Being a whore." I said being dead serious.

"You're joking right love?" Klaus asked.

"Nope Damon and I got into the rock scene and I became a legendary groupie." I said with a smile.

"Okay nice to hear what you did love. At least I'm the best person you has sex with." he said with a smirk.

I laughed, "Actually it was Robert Plant. So Nik what have you been doing."

Nik looked taken back by that comment. "Wow when did you become so in lady like and sarcastic?" he asked.

"Right around the time you left." I smiled. Just then my phone rang it was Stefan. "Excuse me but I have to take this." I said to Klaus.

"Called to say sorry?" I asked.

"Why would I say sorry you're the one that kept a big secret from us." Stefan said.

"Okay what do you want Stefan?" I asked.

"There was a woman that you may have known her name was Isobel in North Carolina at Duke. You killed her." Stefan said.

"Yeah do you want to talk about our past victims let's have an intervention and talk about our feelings Stefy." I said sarcastically, "why are you bringing her up what's the point she wanted it." I said.

"Isobel was Alaric's wife and possibly Elena's mother." Said.

"Isobel was a bitch I now know where Elena gets it from." I said.

"So why did she want you to change her and how did she find you?" Stefan asked.

"I don't know she said somebody had sent her and I was having a bad day so I changed her because I couldn't put up with bullshit." I said.

"Lucy come home today where are you any way?" Stefan asked.

"Went to New York I'm with a friend." I said.

"Damon regrets kicking you out he wants you home." Stefan said.

"I'll come home today the Pearl Jam concerts coming up I can't miss it Stefy." I said before hanging up.

"Who was that love?" Klaus asked.

"My brother." I said looking at Klaus.

"Who is Isobel" he asked.

"Well thanks for listening to conversation. Isobel is Elena's supposed mom and a vampire." I said.

"Who's Elena?" He asked.

"What is this 20 questions? Elena is Stefan's girlfriend and Katherine's freaky look alike." I said.

Nik's eyes lit up. "Like a doppelgänger?" He asked.

"Yeah exactly!" I said.

Nik nodded his head. "Is she also in Mystic Falls?" he asked.

"Yeah. Look Nik I have to go home I have to deal with this and I have to go home to Jeremy we are going to a concert and I need to be home." I said.

"I thought your family kicked you out?" he asked.

"Yeah well they want me back. It's been nice talking to you know that you gave me my memories back and I actually know who you are." I said laughing.

"Lucy you are always welcome here. I know that I screwed up but I hope we can be friends." Nik said.

I smiled, "Absolutely." I said smiling walking toward the door.

Before I left Klaus yelled after me, "Oh and Lucy if it doesn't work between you and your boyfriend you know where to find me." I shook my head and laughed before walking to my car parked at Bobby's.

I pulled into my driveway. My head was still spinning on what happened with Nik.

I walked into the house and could smell blood. I hurried and found Damon and Stefan in the library.

"What happened?" I asked as I got closer and I saw Alaric laying on the floor.

"What did you do?" Stefan asked before bending down next to Alaric.

"Do what?" Damon asked after taking a sip from his glass. "He attacked me."

"Damon." Stefan said with some disbelief.

"All I did was tell him the truth." Damon said like the situation was no big deal. "His wife didn't want him anymore. It's not my fault he couldn't handle it."

I rolled my eyes. "Like you've been handling Katherine?" I asked, knowing that I shouldn't have.

"I'm handling it fine." Damon said to me before taking another sip from his glass. "You know what?" Damon asked me. "Isobel came to me. She found you. And if she's related to Elena, that means she's related to Katherine. Maybe Katherine sent her to you."

"That could be possible since I still talked to Katherine." I said to Damon. "If Katherine wanted you, she would have looked for you." I said to Damon

"Can't be a coincidence Isobel sought you out." Damon said, "Obviously thinking I was with you and would get the hint." Damon said to me. He drank the rest of his glass and stood up. "I'm assuming you'll take care of this." Damon pointed to Alaric before walking out.

I let out a sigh and bent down next to Alaric before he gasped for air.

"What happened?" He asked me before looking towards Stefan. "What's going on?"

"You were just..." 'Dead' I thought for Stefan. "Did Damon turn you?"

"He wouldn't be up this quick." I said to Stefan.

"I went for him and then he stabbed me." Alaric said as he felt his chest, where Damon must have stabbed him.

"No, no, no. You must have vampire blood in your system." I rolled my eyes at Stefan.

"Somebody slipped it to you."

"No." Alaric said. "It's... it's something else."

"Then how?" Stefan and I asked at the same time.

"Isobel." Alaric said in a whisper as he looked at the ring on his hand. "This ring protected me."

"That's impossible." Stefan said as he changed his sitting position.

"I know." Alaric said and I let out a sigh as I tried to look at the ring. 'There's something familiar about it' I thought.

"Well, good night guys." I said after a minute as I stood up. "I'm going to bed." I said before walking away. 'Alaric's alive, so nothing to worry about' I thought as I reached the steps. For a minute, I thought about Nik. I
