Week later

I invited Shawn to one of my dads friends daughter quinceañera {15th birthday}

"Im a white kid going to a family that's surrounded by Spanish people." He said as I was fixing his tie and I looked at him confused "isn't your dad Portuguese?" I said "yeah, but I never really touched into the culture." He said "well today, you better get in touch." I laughed softly. "You look beautiful." He said and I finished fixing his tie and rolled my eyes softly.

"What? You do." "You're tryna Be a kiss ass." I said and he laughed softly. "I'm not. I think you really do look beautiful, why don't you wear dresses a lot?" He asked and I shrugged. "Only wear them for special occasions." I said putting on my earrings. "Well you look beautiful in anything." He said kissing my cheek and I smiled.

I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw me standing in a skin tight long black dress that was floral with a slit up to my thigh and also had a low V cut. "Yeah my dad's not gonna approve of this." I laughed softly. "He's most definitely not." Shawn said "I wouldn't be able to tame myself." He said walking up behind me and turned me around. I wrapped my arms around his waist and he laid his hands on my ass and squeezed it making me smirk. I heard a knock on my door and we quickly walked away from each other. I coughed and opened the door. "Hey." I said seeing my dad stand there. "You guys ready?" He asked and I nodded. "Yeah." I said and reached my hand out for Shawn. He took it and we all walked to the car. My dad made me sit up front while Shawn sat in the back. I thought it was funny.

We got to the location and I hopped out the car along with everyone else. I grabbed Shawn's hand "you nervous to meet my family?" "Considering I'd be the only white guy there? Yeah." He said and I laughed softly. "If it helps, you'll be my white guy." I said and he rolled his eyes. "Cheer up." I said pecking his lips and I started walking with him inside the location.

We walked in and immediately saw my dad's friend. "Alex! You came!" She said and I smiled "of course." I said "and who's this?" She asked "this is Shawn." I said "my boyfriend." I said as they shook each other's hand "boyfriend?" She said and looked at my dad "boyfriend." My dad repeated. "Well nice to meet you Shawn. Please enjoy, the party." She smiled softly before grabbing my dad and walking away. "Your dad still isn't psyched about me huh?" Shawn asked. "He's just protective." I said. "Alex!" Someone calls out. "Twelve o'clock." Shawn said and I turned into the direction. "Sabrina!" I said and have her a big hug. "Happy birthday!" I said as we pulled away from the hug. "Thank you!" She said

"Sabrina, this is Shawn. My boyfriend." I said "hey!" She said and gave him a hug. He was a little surprised. "I like your dress. You look very beautiful in it." He said "thank you." She said and did a little twirl "15 huh? You must be excited." Shawn said "I am. Means I'm a woman now." She said and I laughed "in a Spanish culture? 15 does not mean you're a women." I said and she rolled her eyes "I know." She sighed "anyways, I think your dad's hitting it off with my mom." She said and we both looked at them. "They're friends." I said "you sure? Look at how they're looking at each other." She said "they've been best friends since high school cause of my mom. No way." I said

"I mean would it be so bad if they were together? He's single, she's single. Me and you could be sisters and we could hang out again like we used to back in New York before we moved here." She said grabbing my hands. I smiled softly. "They work together, They've been friends for a while. I don't think they'd do anything knowing it'd be jeopardizing their friendship." I said and she sighed "Yeah I guess so." She said "Anyways, enjoy the party guys." She said and walked away. "You okay?" Shawn asked and I nodded. "How about, you and I, take a trip to the dance floor Hm?" I said leading him to the floor. "I don't know how to dance to this music." Shawn laughed as he continuously failed.
