Lyssa gaped as another girl entered through the doorway. Again, with a necklace like hers and the other two people sitting close by.

The girl who just entered had straight, shoulder-length, blonde-colored hair that was slightly frizzy. She wore dark rectangular glasses with broad frames, and a metallic band pulled her hair away from her pale face. A navy tie hung around her neck and a clean white shirt was tucked into her plaid skirt.

Next to her was a girl so bold and bright, Lyssa found it difficult to take her eyes off of her flawless beauty. Her dark brown hair cascaded in loose waves down her back. Her amber eyes flickered in the light of the colorful chandelier like two stars against a dark, tan sky. She wore a silky white blouse and light-wash denim shorts. Covering her toned calves were black lace tights with cream flats. She leaned back in her chair, bored.

The final girl was cute with curly, shoulder-length chestnut hair, fair skin, and brown eyes. A rose-colored skater skirt flowed around her skinny thighs. On her face was a smile, which, in Lyssa's opinion, was odd. How come she wasn't nervous or anxious like her?

"Hey." Smiles greeted the new girl.

Glasses looked at her, scratched her head, and asked in a trance: "Who are you?"

"My name is Lyndsie," Smiles introduced herself. "And you?"

"Um… Amy." she replied, sounding unsure and lost, but Lyssa didn't blame her for it. "So, uh, do you know why I'm here?"

"No. I thought you might. I had a dream last night that told me to come here…"

"You did?" asked Tights. "Me too!"

     "And I!" shrieked Amy.

     "With the ghost lady?"

     "Yeah!"

"What was her name, again?" Lyndsie wondered.

     "Beats me."

"It was Aphrodite II." entered ghost-lady from the wood door, who didn't look much like a ghost now. Everything she was wearing was in color, and Anya realized how beautiful she was. Of course, her lips were covered in fuchsia  gloss and her cheeks were dusted in rosy blush, but underneath all that, she was stunning. Her hair, though, was still white.

"No it wasn't!" snapped a taller woman next to the supposedly-named Aphrodite II. She looked almost the same, except she wore no makeup and had a few wrinkles. "You're named after me, not a God!"

     "I think you mean Goddess."

     "Whatever."

     Awkward silence.

"So, uh, what is her name, then?" questioned Lyndsie.

"Carnavia. The second." A man's voice said. He crept out from behind the two women. He was quite short and had a square head. He wore a necklace like the rest of them, which was weird for a man. Lyssa looked up and noticed that Carnavia and Carnavia II also had the necklaces.

Suddenly, all of the questions Lyssa had kept in to herself since she entered the Gem Palace burst out of her. "What is with the necklaces? Who are you people? How did you get into our dreams? Why are we here?" she exploded.

They all looked at her, shocked, like she was an insane lunatic. She had been as silent as a mouse the entire time, and Lyssa guessed that they had barely noticed her.

"Ah, Lyssa, you have asked only the most imp-" Carnavia I started calmly in a motherly voice.

"Oh, and, uh, how do you know my name?"
