"What...? You're not going to die." I tried to laugh but felt pukish.
"Love, I would know better than you as it is my body. Come to me." Gramma pulled me towards her."Now....." She whispered into my ear.
"Gramma....the food..." I tried to say something but Gramma clasped my mouth shut with her hand.
"You have to listen in silence. This is crucial." She breathed. "The day your parents died-it wasn't your fault. None of it ever was. You were a child. You lost control..." She wheezed.
"Gramma, you don't need to pressurise yourself like this. Just eat the food." I removed Gramma's hand from my mouth and spoke.
"Silence!" Gramma snapped. She hadn't spoken like this since she became sick. She had become very soft spoken. Hearing her snap at me like that, I was spellbound. I let her continue without any interruption.
"Don't fool yourself, love. You're not in acknowledgement of your powers. That mishap can happen again. Hiding from your true self is not the way to be harmless. It is just the opposite of it, actually. Learn to be in possession of the flame." Gramma's words made me flinch. She began coughing. "Get me.....water." she wheezed.
I hurried up and brought her a bowl of water to drink. After soothing her throat, Gramma resumed talking.
"My love, learn to summon the flame. And also....learn to banish it before harm can be done. I'm sorry love, it took me so long to tell you these words. At first, after the incident, I thought it'd be better for you to not bring the flame again. Much later, I understood. If you don't control the magic, it will control you. It'll unleash itself once you let your guards down. I couldn't say all this before-because I didn't want to hurt you." Gramma's eyes shone with tears. "You had to endure so much pain....that I couldn't bring myself to...." At this point of time, Gramma was hiccuping."Ah!" I wiped away her tears. "It's okay. I'm not hurt at all. I understand. But....I haven't seen myself use the flame for years! I don't think I can create it now."
"Where there is will," Gramma smiled. "There is way."
Gramma turned over and shut her eyes."Gramma.....your food..?" I tried to wake her up.
"I'll eat it....later...." She replied, deep in sleep.
"Huh? Okay." I put the bowl on the floor and sat down.
Where there is will, there is way. What if there is no will?
