(tribute to a very special white rock, that sits on my window sill.)I sat by the river on a clear day,
felt the cool water play with my feet,
that's when I met rocky,
oval shaped and smooth,
tumbling down the river bed.
so I put you besides me,
and together we basked in the sun.and rocky you said to me,
once I was part of a huge mountain,
so up high, so free ,
plenty of air, plenty of sun.
true bliss.
but now I roll down this watery hell,
cold, corroded, never to rest.
soon I will be nothing but silt,
scattered below this wet darkness.and rocky I made you a promise,
I gave you a home,
there on my window sill,
plenty of air, plenty of sun,
somewhere to spend your days.
lets be housemates,
to the very end.and rocky you made a promise too,
to stick with me on this journey,
as I climb my mountain top,
and when my time shall come,
you'll keep me company,
under the cold dark earth.
lets be housemates,
to the very end.fin.
