It was different how this night started, it was different because I actually was outside of my key, starring down at my once glorious celestial wizard. Her once bright green eyes now pale and dead. The world escaping from her and no love shown at all. She was an amazing wizard, treated us all equally but today, we failed her. We failed to help through her battle and now we would all be separated. I wouldn't get to see any of my friends after today, we all grew close together but now we were going to fall apart.
I reached my caramel-tanned hand down for their keys only for them all to disappear. They were going to appear somewhere around the world while I was stuck here, being the last gate opened, I just didn't want to go home. I was scared. If I went back, I'd be a laughing stock for allowing my contractor to perish without any second thought.
I slowly made my way down the mountain side, traveling for what seemed like minutes but it had been days and months.
I slowly pass the Heartfilia Clan Gates. Watching the young Anna train the new Dragon Slayers. She was teaching and giving them they're best shot at life in the future. She was best friends with my master and I just wanted to see if possibly I could make a contract with her.
She noticed me but said nothing. Her brown eyes going back to her students the moment I drew closer. I inhaled sharply, reaching for the gate and pushing past it. I gripped my key and walked closer to her, watching a young Natsu and Gajeel butting heads over who was better as a Slayer.
"Why do you come?" She asked, approaching me, seeing some old wounds. Her eyes narrowed and she whistled for the Slayers. The group rushing over and watching their teacher. "It's time for lunch, head to the dinning hall."
My ears pinned back, slowly taking to my knees. Watching the young Slayers disappear into the the Heartfilia Mansion. "She's gone..." I blurted. My heart sinking at the realization of my words, "I don't know what else I am supposed to do."
But she knew. She knew exactly what I needed to do, she knew where to send me and what to task me with. She wanted to send me into the future with the young Slayers as their overseer.
_____________
It was only four years later that we were finally ready to leave, finally ready to go out on our own and be our own people. Anna wouldn't make a contract with me, she refused it. Told me to go into my key when I was ready, but living outside of my key would cause dire problems for my magic if I ever needed to use it.She had the dragons already waiting to meet us. Already to take their respective foster child. To hone and teach them how to utillize their magic appropriately.
As for me, Anna sent me to the Heartfilia Clan in the future. She had given me a letter, attaching it to my key and told me to be with them. But I wasn't ready to go just yet. I wanted to explore the new world and see what Guilds existed.
