The automatic doors opened and some sour surgeon went out followed by high-pitched voices. He responded by a sigh to the never-ending noise coming from the hospital. A low salary for a night job where most patients are drunks, addicts or other kinds of uncooperative street rats completely justified his cynical mannerism. Constantly trying to stay out of trouble in a poorly attended neighborhood, he took a cigarette out of pocket while overlooking the assault he could see happening right next to him. When he first came here after obtaining his diploma, he stood out for 2 particulate reasons: his Asian features and optimistic attitude. He got rid of the latter. He couldn't do otherwise while working in a hospital that didn't look like one, street art covering its walls and nurses trained in combat. The flickering lights of the alley dirtied with dry blood and vomit as well as the hallucinating thugs contributing to the show, erased any hope for salvation in such a place; and churches being used for the inventory of drug dealers, the only safe place was a child's playground that everybody no matter their affiliations, protected the memories of, however, the reputation of the neighborhood prevented it from being restored and soon enough, it would have to be abandoned as well.

It was by wandering by this sacred ground, after his shift ended around 5 O' clock, that Wang Yao came across an unconscious body. More than the urge to care for those in need, his interest was solely in the symbol that would be a dead man in the only quite safe place in this town as he approached the unknown mass. A large, formless coat accompanied by a long scarf seemed to cover the man from head to toes and one could think a drunk had fallen asleep in the heavenly sanctuary that this is. However, the doctor's experience prevented him from endorsing this kind of thoughts, and the position of the man on the ground was anything but disorderly as if someone had put him there deliberately, thus why he allowed himself to step closer and investigate.

As he came closer, striking visuals awaited him. The formless mass was lying, its eyes open. This unnatural feature left him uneasy and he slowed his pace with precaution. Is it dead? He wondered why he wasn't freaked out enough by this idea to not dare approach it in the first place but any sane thoughts he might have had, were slowly being replaced by panic and fright, overcoming this morbid curiosity that motivated his actions though it did not stop them either. The eerie ambiance that a nighttime playground formed and the absence of sound made each and every one of his steps resonate throughout the dark. The poor vision he could make out in this overwhelming darkness worsened the situation as it enhanced every single one of his thoughts to the point of dangerous exaggerations. Thus, his complexion went livid when he saw the left arm of the body facing him, taking a skeletal appearance. However, dread quickly dissipated back into curiosity, pumped up by the adrenaline from the fright, as bones turned out to be steel and wires.

The right part of his face was unsuccessfully covered by both his scarf and his own skin which was peeling off, revealing a robotic structure. The eye thus naked without a lid, resembled a doll's one, both in the impossible purple color it'd demonstrate, and equally impossible uniformity of the white all around it. In the same way, the most resistant skin reflected an abnormal clean state and displayed spotless perfection.

Especially for a humanoid which seemed defective and like it had gotten rid of.

As he was focusing on the foreign eyes of the thing, he noticed its absence of blinking and tried to keep the rational look of a doctor on it but couldn't help but to feel uncomfortable. Sparks of electricity drove his consciousness back into his body and his thoughts raced in urgency. The moon setting and giving way to her partner of light, was being reflected on the steel of the robotic man, his coat and scarf of pure white bathing in the halo of early morning. A reversed sunset was a sign of an imminent disruption for the silence which until now only had thrown him off balance, a grim prediction. The return to the ado of population was not something for him to be pleased with.
On an impulse completely assumed, he decided to take the whole thing to his consultation room for further inspection. After all, this may be the only chance for his scientist mind to obtain such valuable components before long. He should take opportunities as they come, right? Even his reason could not stop his passion for experimentation renewed by the sight, the danger that it should have brought up only added to the excitement for a bored public employee such as him.
