We only had a day to take a break
From stress, I could eat a bunch of steak
But I need to maintain my weight,
Or else, dear uniform won’t accept my state
With all those busy dates,
I always sleep so late.
It was that Sunday morning,
Everyone decided to go swimming
Still tired and worn out from the week,
My cousin and I, though undecided, joined them in the full heat
We reached the place, excited and ready to beat.
I actually planned not to swim, but glad I just did.
Your khaki shorts is what I first noticed
With its simplicity I won’t dare miss
Then your stature stood out,
“So alluring,” my mind speaks out.
I got my cousin’s attention, pointing you to show her
Taking sneaky glances ‘cause looking away I can’t bear.
Your face, I finally got a glimpse
You got those thin and desirable lips.
Chinky eyes that have secrets to keep,
I just sat there, trying to be meek
Appreciating the view I am seeing
With the sun’s glow, your light brown hair is complimenting.
Carved in my mind, you’re a superb built
Like those lasting flowers which takes long to wilt
I laughed to myself when I suddenly saw it
Remembering my friend like a bulb is lit.
Hoy Dasma, he’s definitely the kind of guy you like
Though miles away, you’d surely take the hike.
From far away, I took a final look
Knowing time will fly and not get hooked
Chance was given for me to say,
“I need to wait and not to play.”
I might not see you after days pass by
But you’ll always be remembered like my favorite lullaby.
