Brianna's POV
After about three nights of crying myself to sleep and a sad looking face I was fine. It's sort of funny how you just have to get whatever you're feeling out of your system. For me that just took a lot of crying. I mean I still miss them but at least now when I look at a picture of them I don't burst into tears. I walked up into the bedroom and looked at everything the bedding had been switched back to the white from all the colorful bedding they had and the room seemed empty. the toiletry closet only had my basket with what seemed like a million others if anyone else ever came. The bathroom was just the same since half of the medicine in the cabinet was for my asthma and my allergies. Everything was a little more empty. Miss Lulana came up and told me that she was going to make graham crackers and peanut butter plus pink lemonade. My favorite. We walked out on the porch ,and shocker she got me to laugh and smile. After a little bit we were interrupted by the crunch of the gravel driveway and a black car pulling up.
A woman dressed in jeans a sweater and a t-shirt hopped out to meet us.
(Kennedy, Miss Lulana, Me)
"Hi. I'm looking for a Miss Lulana."
"That would be me. You must be Kennedy."
"Yes."
"Thanks for coming we can go into my office or you can join us out on the porch for some lemonade."
"I think the porch would work just fine."
"I'm going to go in and grab my sketchbook. I'll be right back."
-Meanwhile-
"That was Brianna."
"She seems so sweet."
"Yes ,she is and she's the only one here."
"Well I'm sorry to take business, but my husband and I would really like to adopt her. the only thing I'm worried about is how she'll adjust."
"I'm sure she'll do fine. Especially because you have a dog."
"Yes that will probably help."
-I enter-
"Brianna?"
"Yes Miss Lulana?"
"This is Kennedy. How would you like her to adopt you?"
"Really?"
A smile bigger than I could contain began to spread across my face.
"Really."
"I would miss you, but I would love that."
"It's settled then. How soon would you like to take her?"
"If you have the adoption forms here I can sign them and take her now if that's what Brianna wants."
"I'll go get them."
I looked at Kennedy.
"Thank you so much!" I threw my arms around her.
"You're welcome."
After signing the papers I went upstairs to pack up I grabbed Rosie, My sketchbooks, my toiletries, and my clothes so that we could load them in the back of the trunk. I gave Miss Lulana a hug that seemed to last forever and took Kennedy's hand. As we walked down the gravel driveway I thought how just a few hours ago I heard my new Mom drive up it. Once I was loaded into the car. We said our final goodbyes and made sure that we had Hadley, Francis, and Lillian's phone numbers. As we drove away I waved until Miss Lulana was only a speck. I was nervous but I was also ready for a change.
"The car drive is an hour Brianna. You have time for a nap."
"Okay. Thanks Kennedy."
I fell asleep to the sounds of the city and the warmth in my heart.
a/n: Hope you enjoyed. Bye.
