The two teenagers sped on their bikes, five minutes away from being late to school. Both girls were starting their first day at Mingde University; a school for the elite. What made these two get in? Money you're guessing. Well, that's partially correct.
Dong Shancai, a girl with short black hair, isn't from a wealthy family. She's barely any money. It's quite literally a miracle she got into this school with her parents struggling to pay bills. But the other girl is Wu Meiling. Her first name means beautiful and delicate, with her last name meaning God-like or the highest. Meiling is very popular in China and North America due to her mother's clothing brand.
Ms. Wu, her mother, is constantly traveling around the world which leaves Meiling with her older sister in Shanghai. The sisters have no clue as to who their father is. but that's a long and boring story
"We're going to be late!" Shancai hollered through the wind in a panic. Meiling gave a mischievous grin before hopping off her bike.
"Race you to school," she shouted and ran with the bike. She hopped back on to it and pedaled as fast as she could. Meiling made it to school just in time. Quickly, she opened her locker, stuffed her bag in, and left. She completely forgot to close it.After morning classes, it was time for lunch. Meiling walked to her locker and her heart raced at the sight of it half-open.
"Oh no," she sighed, rummaging through her little white purse. "Ugh! Where's my stupid phone." She jumped when she felt a tap on her shoulder. She spun around, her hands in a defensive position. "What do you want from me?"The boy standing in front of her was a lot taller. He was 185 centimeters tall, whereas Meiling was only 163.
"Is this yours?" the guy was holding her phone out. Meiling went to snatch it from him but he held it up in the air.
"What's your name?" The guy asked her."That is none of your business. Just give me my phone back," was her response. The guy looked at her for a good minute, studying her facial features.
"You're Wu Meiling? I'm Feng Mei Zuo, nice to meet you," Mei Zuo said, holding out his free hand. Meiling shook his hand and took her phone back. Mei Zuo turned and walked away as Meiling sarcastically thanked him.
"Weirdo," she mumbled and grumbled as she walked into the cafeteria. At the end of the day, Meiling went to find Shancai. Shancai was spotted coming out of the principals office. "What happened," Meiling inquired worriedly to which Shancai let out a sigh, "Don't even get me started." With a very annoyed tone she went on to explain about the green shoed guy, her now destroyed phone, and how she had 'attacked' a special guest. Meiling patted her shoulder in a comforting manner. "Well then, we should get some revenge on mister green shoes."
The next few days were just great (not really) for Shancai. She decided to confront green shoed guy about him breaking her phone but he just ignored her and walked away. Today, her friend Li Zhen had slipped while holding a cake and it landed right on Daoming Si's face. Meiling thought that this part was hilarious, but Shancai was aggravated by the whole thing. Especially now, since she opened her locker to find an F4 Joker card. Shancai and Meiling decided; today the two of them would meet and talk to the so-called F4.
The two reached the Bridge Club room and knocked on the door. No one answered and so they waited outside. After two minutes it was as if the oxygen in the room was being sucked away and the atmosphere in the hallways changed. Four tall and handsome men walked down, slowly getting closer. To the girls they were just four tall, narrow, blobs. Until they got closer and could be seen clearly.
"Ximen Yan, the one with glasses. Hauze Lei, the plain looking one. Daoming Si, you know which one that is. And Feng Mei Zuo..." Meiling read the name with a sense of familiarity. It was when Mei Zuo got closer that Meiling realized who he was. "You again?"
