The New Kid

"Madeline get up you have to get to school"

Woah stop right there my name is Madeline as you heard from my mom I'm 17 and I am the new kid at this very prestigious school. I'm the kind of person where I get in trouble a lot I mean A LOT. But other than that that is a little about the situation that is occurring right at this moment. Now let's continue my mom yelling at me.

"NOW MADELINE"

"I'm up, I'm up"

"Good I will see you after work make sure you get there on time. Love you"

"Ok and love you too mom"

As she leaves I hear the door slam shut. Then I get out of bed unwillingly then I get my clothes. I try to brush out the mop of a hair I have on my head it didn't really help but looked decent. Then put on the little makeup I wear a day. I grab my keys and book bag and black leather jacket and leave in my vehicle.

Once I get to school I park my car and head into hell or as you would know it school, a prep school. The moment I walk in everyone stares at me. Great I am already the center of attention and I haven't even done anything. I thought to myself walking down the hall to my locker.

After what felt like ages of people staring at me the bell rang and I head to my first class. The dreaded English.

"Ugh, why does this class have to be my first one of the day." I say taking a seat in a chair at the back of the room.

"I know right this class sucks" a girl next to me says.

"And who are you" I said in a curious manner trying to not to be rude to the first person who seems to be actually being nice to me.

"My name is it is nice to meet you ... uhhh what's your name" she says laughing nervously.

"My name is Madeline I am so glad to find someone that doesn't think I am the complete maniac".

As she laughs she says "they all are just a little timid, you should be fine in a couple of days especially if you make more friends like you did with me."

"Thanks" I say as see this beautiful human being of a man walk into the classroom.

As I watch him Sam realizes and says "good lookin huh his name is Alex he is our quarter back for our football team."

I didn't say anything for a little until I could come up with anything to say "uh huh he is one hat looking guy but looks like a jackass."

Sam just laughs next to me then the teacher walk in and says "ok class let's get into this today is just going to be rules and such and such.

We go through the rules then he just lets us get on our phones I decided to listen to music. As I walk out of the classroom heading to my next class I bump into someone while listening to my music. I pull my earbuds out and say "I'm so sorry." I bend over to get my stuff that I dropped and when I did that the person I bumped into bent down also to help and once our hands touch I look up and realize the person I am looking at right now is the beautiful human being I mentioned earlier.

"No my apologies it was my bad I wasn't paying attention and how did I miss someone like you."

"Is that supposed to be an insult cause if so I can throw hands boi."

"No no no I can tell you would be that kind of person to fight back it was a good thing I was saying you look pretty."

"Oh.... thanks" I say a little embarrassed. "My name is Madeline"

"My name is Alex it is nice to meet you Madeline."

"Nice to meet you too" I said picking up my stuff and smiling "I have to get to my next class" I say walking away after hoping to leave him in suspense. I glanced behind me and everyone was staring at me as I walked away even Alex was staring at me smiling.

As I get to my next class I realize what I have done by everyone asking me did you just do  that to the quarter back of the football team you ignored him I wasn't ignoring him I was leaving him wanting more, what is so wrong with that it is quite funny watching people in shock because of what I didn't really mean to do it just happened. He was smiling also it wasn't just me who noticed right.

"So did you....."

"Don't ask Sam no I didn't ignore him I was playing a game" I said with a smirk.

"Dude big mistake"

"What do you mean"

"If people think what I have been told you might get bombarded from people for ignoring him"

"I didn't.." I say frustrated until she interrupts me.

"I know I know you didn't ignore him but they don't know that" she says gesturing to the crowd of people staring at me. "And now that you are playing he is gonna play along with it."

"What do you mean"

"He isn't the kind of person to leave someone who starts the game if you start he is gonna finish it" as she says this I realize exactly what I just did I started a game that it may end in me having my first enemy or a friendship may come out of it.

After school was done I was walking to my car when I bumped into someone again. "I am so sorry" the I looked up and realized I bumped into Alex. "How come we just keep bumping into each other today" I said laughing.

"I don't know I guess your magnetic"

"Magnetic"

"Now that I hear outside of my mind I can tell that sounds really weird doesn't it"

"No I wouldn't say weird I would say not usual, and being not usual is not a bad thing"

"Thanks"

"No problem, so I realize what I did earlier may have come off as ignoring you but I wasn't"

"I didn't think it was ignoring me"

"Ok just thought I would say cause I kept getting asked why I ignored you, because you never get ignored"

"Well that is true I have never gotten ignored by anyone or stood up by anyone and that is probably the thing that got them was that you said you would not be scared to fight me"

"Oh .... I see well in my defense I did grow up with two older brothers who both are in football and they like to wrestle with me and they are about your height and I have had to learn self defense against those two because they get a little to rough and tackle me, they treated me like a guy."

"Oh I see so are they going to be on the football team this year"

"Yeah, speaking of football I heard you were the quarter back"

"Not just the quarter back but I am the Captain of the team" he says in a cocky tone.

"Wow ego much, you like to boast about yourself don't you" I said laughing.

"Hey" he said in a fake hurt tone dramatically throwing his hands in the air. As he does this we both end up laughing are asses off. "So I have to get going but could I get your number and sometime we could hang out"

"Yeah sure here give me your phone and I will put my in and I will give you mine and you can put yours in" I said holding out my phone. He takes it and we exchange numbers

"K I will talk to you later Madeline"

"Please call me mads or mady which ever one you feel comfortable with"

"Ok mads"
