Chapter 1: Is It Really That Awkward?

Mia's POV

"C'mon Snookie!" I said as I tugged on her leash. She was getting older, and I was trying to walk her twice a day like the vet had said. She was a beautiful Pomeranian with white on her belly and black everywhere else. After I was done walking Snookie, I went back home to get Buddy. He was also my dog, but he was a lot younger than Snookie. Buddy was a Saint Bernard, and was very playful and naughty. As I started to walk him, I looked across the street and saw my best friends, John and Danny. I think they knew I was staring at them because they waved and smiled. I waved back, blushing a little. "Hi!" yelled Danny. "Hey!" I yelled back. I was so excited, because tomorrow I was planning on asking my best friend/crush (Danny) to the carnival. Buddy started to bark."Shhhh be quiet," I said. Another little dog started to bark. I let them sniff each other's butts and tugged on his leash. leash. "Buddy come!" I couldn't stop thinking about tomorrow. Would things go right? Would he say yes? Now I'm having second thoughts.

Chapter 2: Courage

Mia's POV

"Okay, I can do this," I said to myself. I walked up to Danny very quietly, because we were in the library and I didn't want to make the librarian mad. "Hey Danny." "Oh, hey." "What are are you doing?" "Well, I'm looking for a good book to read, and I thought I'd start here," he said. "Cool," I replied. "Well, the carnival is coming up, and I'd like to know if you would want to come with me." "Oh, sure! Is Juliet going to be there? Because maybe John and her could go together also." " Ummm, I don't know." I replied. I really wasn't sure if my sister, Juliet was going, but I did know I was coming. "I'll ask her." "K, thanks,"said Danny.

I had done it! I really did! And I can't believe he actually said yes! I couldn't wait to tell Juliet!

" Hey Mia," said my sister, Juliet. "Oh, hey. How was school today?". "Great! Today I asked Danny if he would go to the carnival with me, and he said yes!" "Oh my gosh, that's great," said Juliet. "I might've also gotten a date for you too!" I said. "What? Who?" "John!" I said as I made kissy faces." Really?" asked Juliet. "Yeah. You better ask him tomorrow. The carnival is in two days." "Ok, I'll try to," said Juliet.

Chapter 3: Will he say yes?

Juliet's POV

"Hey John," I said as I walked up to John. We were in the middle of P.E. , so I didn't want people to stare. "Hey Juliet." . " So....the carnival is coming up...... and I wanted to know if you would want to, you know, go with me?" I asked nervously. "I'd be delighted to," said John with a smile. "Great! ". " Pick you up at eight?". "Yeah, sure! Bye!" I said, realizing I sounded creepy. Yes! I had finally done it! Now I know how it feels to get my first date ever.

"Mia guess what? I did it!!" I said as I burst through the front door of our house. "Oh my gosh Juliet! That's great!" replied Mia.
