“Over here!” Nyla ran through the sand, feeling the warm sun on her face. She pulled her boyfriend of two years, Nathan, by his arm and threw herself to the floor smiling. Nathan laid down next to her and kissed her cheek. He tried to kiss her lips but she got up, crossing her arms, smiling.
“You're gonna have to catch me.” She giggled, running off into this tide pool cave.
He chased her for about 5 minutes until she got tired and stopped.
“Your mine now.” He pulled her into hug, “I love you.”
“I know,” She locked her eyes into his.

“So, are you still going with your dad on the road trip to Ohio?” She sat down on a bench outside of the ice cream parlor.
“Yeah, we leave tonight.” Nathan looked down at his shoes.
“I’m going to miss you..” She squeezed his shoulder.
“I’ll be back in a week, Nyla.” He smiled.
“Ugh, that sounds like forever!” She groaned.
“You’ll survive,” He stood up and held her hand, “Are you sure you don’t want a ride?”
“Nate, I literally live 3 blocks from here, I can walk.” Nyla happily rolled her eyes.
“Okay.. be careful, Ny, its dark out.” He kissed her.
“I can take care of herself.” She sighed, “I’ll see you in a week?”
“Definitely.”
She kissed Nathan one last time and walked towards her house. She looked back at him getting into his car and bit her lip. Every time she’s with him, she feels complete, somehow. They’ve been together for two years since their freshman year in high school. They’re now 16 year old juniors and their relationship is stronger than ever. Nyla’s phone vibrated so she took it out of her pocket and smiled at the text message from Nathan.
