Act 1 - Odd New Recruit

You have escaped one hell and found yourself in another.

A girl collapses through the door of an old, abandoned laboratory. Her purple skin reflects against the bright lights that are being shined against her by the several helicopters above her. She looks up and sees soldiers sliding down from the vessels and approaching her, guns in their hands.

She doesn't understand... soldiers? Why would soldiers be here? Is there a war going on?

"Who are you?"

She looks down at the floor, unsure if she wants to divulge anything.

"What's your name? Speak!"

"I'm... Mayu. Mayu Hinode!"

She feels a hand grab her arm and pull her upwards. Before she knows it, she's being dragged away from the lab.

Mayu's escaped the laboratory and entered a world that she's unfamiliar with... she doesn't understand that it's been at war for five years, and she's being brought into custody by the Orion army. From this moment forward, her life is going to change.

Mayu is currently being forced through a metallic hallway by two robots of the Orion army, known as Sentinels. They are both holding large machine guns and keeping her from escaping. When they pulled her from her prison cell, they didn't tell her anything about where she was headed. The girl herself is not a normal human being, made of purple-colored slime, and having white eyes, devoid of pupils or irises.

Mayu: "..."

As much as it's painful to try to stay calm, Mayu tries. Her arms and legs are shaking, and she's unable to hide them. The Sentinels stop before a large sealed door, as one of them speaks.

"The Lieutenant is going to arrive soon. Do not make any sudden movements." They point their guns at the back of her head.

Mayu silently nods. The door slowly opens, on the other side is a dark room. She glances around the room, still shaking. The doors close behind her, as the light turns on, revealing two chairs with a table in the middle. Sitting on the other side is Lieutenant Hollow.

Lieutenant Hollow is a Sentinel himself, but widely different in figure. He's much lankier than the other Sentinels, and with a larger chest. His neck is so long that it ends up folding in on itself to keep his head close to his torso. His colors are a dark gray with white markings scratched onto him, to resemble that of a skeleton. These markings cover his face as well. His eyes are much different than the blue eyes of a Sentinel, as they are a bright yellow with red circles flowing through them, like a hypnotic television screen with flashing colors. He's leaning back on his chair and has a suspicious look on his face.

Hollow: "Go ahead... sit down, girl."

Frantically nodding, the girl sits down in the opposite direction of him. Hollow's yellow and red stare pierces her.

Hollow: "... I don't like to play games, I'm not going to lie to you. If you don't give me the answers I want, I will have you shot into a sizzling puddle."

Again, she nods, growing more nervous by the second.

Hollow: "I've seen the reports of a girl that was unlike a human. This is not the first time we've seen a creature of sludge. Where did you come from?"

Mayu: "I... e-escaped a laboratory."

Hollow slams his metal fist on the table, making a dent and giving off a loud noise.

Hollow: "What laboratory?!"

Mayu gasps in fear, trying to breathe properly.

Mayu: "A l-laboratory that was e-experimenting on human subjects... Izu Peninsula..." She stops trying to gasp for air.
