Above is Ariella's parents...imagine them in firenation clothing if you can. :) Thank you!
The Earth mages were doing their daily tasks when suddenly a couple came running. With one glance at their clothes, the mages knew they were not from the Earth nation. Getting into a defensive stance the mages prepared to defend the temple until the they saw the bundle in the distressed mother’s hands. Still wary of a trap the mages allowed the couple entrance into the temple. The mother began rambling as she gasped to catch her breath while the father tried to calm her down.
“Please help….my daughter….purple hair…..eyes.” Still catching her breath the mother held out the bundle in her arms towards the mages. The oldest mage stepped forward and gasped at the site in front of him.
“The prophecy….mage brothers come take a look! She has been born!” The mages gathered around and now the father wrapped his arms around his wife unsure of the decision to come here.
“What prophecy?” The oldest mage looked at the father then back at the child still sleeping soundly. The mage remained silent, thinking.
“Follow me, there is no other way to explain.” He took off quickly down the hallway as the other mages just stared at the child with an indescribable emotion. The parents looked at eachother, debating before following the mage.
After several turns and no break to catch their breath, the parents finally caught up with the mage who stood at the end of a dead end hallway. The father was now carrying the their child to give the mother’s a rest. Surprisingly, the baby remained asleep even through all the running and panting.
“This way.” The mage pulled a torch on the wall, a hidden lever. A door opened leading them to a secret room with engravings on the wall and dusty books cluttering the one shelf in the room. The parents followed the mage to the engraved wall as he explained the prophecy.
“Your daughter is one of a kind, only one to be born in over a hundred years. You see the tale goes as so: powers are bestowed upon a child who is born when the spirits agree on the need for a savior of the world. Unlike the avatar, it is not passed when the previous avatar dies only when danger is going to come in the future. However, it is impossible to say when the danger will appear and what it is. Your daughter, for a reason unknown, has been chosen to protect the world and will have unimaginable powers.” The parents were astonished. Unable to speak, the mage continued.
“That is the reason behind the unnatural hair and eye color. Once the spirits decide, they pass the powers onto the child, consequently changing her hair and eye color to show her power. This also makes her vulnerable if her enemies know of the prophecy.” They came out of their daze.
“So….what do we do? How can we protect her?” The mother had taken her child into her hands and clutched her to her chest. The father had settled his hand onto his wife’s back, passing on comfort and security.
“Sadly, you can only do one thing….You must leave her here so we can train her to control her powers and protect her. She must not be known of until the time of danger has come.” Already reluctant, the mother looked at the father for assurance.
“Can we stay here?” The mother did not want to leave her child while the father remained silent.
“Sadly, you staying her would draw to much attention, you are not benders and are clearly from the fire nation. We could house you for one night while you make arrangements, but your daughter would have to stay here with us.”
“Can….can we give you an answer in the morning?” The mother had tears in her eyes. The thought of leaving her only 5 week old baby was heartbreaking. The father still had not said a word. The mage nodded his head as he led them to a room where they could stay for the night. The father had stayed behind for a second to look at the etched wall. He had noticed half of the prophecy was covered by a tapestry and moved to glance at what was hidden. He only saw a piece before he heard the sound of mages coming near. Listening carefully, his suspicions were verified by the conversation. After the mages passed, he walked out briskly to catch up with his wife, pretending to be oblivious to the plans of the mages.
The mage led them to a small guest room with a bed big enough for them to stay in for the night. Before bidding them goodnight, the mage setup for someone to bring them some food. The father nodded his appreciation while his wife spewed endless thank you’s. Once they were alone the husband cut off his wife’s thought.
“We cannot leave her here.” The wife, although surprised at his sudden outburst, sighed.
“I don’t like the idea either but you heard what he said. We can’t protect her.”
    “That mage is lying.”
She began to feed the crying child who had woken up from the father’s harsh whispering. The mother was about to question, when he shushed her. Footsteps came followed by a knock on the door. A younger mage came in carrying a tray with bread and cheese along with two cups full of water. The wife gave a silent thank you and waited for the mage to leave before continuing.
    “What do you mean?”
“Half of the prophecy was covered but before I could uncover it all the way, two mages walked by. They talked about FireLord Ozai and the reward the temple would receive once our daughter was exposed of. I think the danger she is supposed to be here for is to stop FireLord Ozai and his reign of terror.” The mother remained silent as she cradled the child in her hands.
“I will not let my daughter be taken advantage of or exposed of by there criminal earth mages or FireLord Ozai.”
“How are we going to get out of here?” The father was silent as he began to devise a plan to escape.
“On the way up here I saw a window not high from the ground that we could use to leave. Getting there will be a little difficult but I think I know how to distract the mages if we encounter them.” The mother smiled and walked up to her husband giving him a kiss on his cheek.
“This is why I love you.” The husband gave her a quick smile before hugging her and
whispering I love you too in her ear.
“Now get some rest. We will wait until it is dark when most of the mages go to sleep.”
