We drew our 5 cards. Mephiles flipped to see who went first. He picked heads but lost the coin toss. I drew all monsters for my first 5. "I draw." I picked up a card. Card Destruction a spell card. It's not worth using but it may come in handy. "I play Dragunity Militum in attack position. That will end my turn." Mephiles smirked as he drew his card. "Despite her cute looking nature I play Fairy Tail - Snow in attack position and destroy your Militum thus ending my turn!" I growled at the mouthless, purple caped hedgehog. He held the dragon staff relic close to him as I drew my next card. "Alright I place one card face down in defense position then I put one card face down in my trap and spell zone!" I gestured for his move. He smirked drawing his card. "I place one card face down in defense position and use Snow to attack your face down!" He said and the deed was done. I growled lightly. "You're move Dimitri or should I say Obsidius?" My stomach sank as he said that. I wasn't sure how he knew of Obsidius but I drew my next card not saying a word. I growled as I place a card face down in defense position. "Your move." Again he held his staff close as he drew a card. "I tribute both my monsters to summon in my Magician of Dark Illusion!" I could hear Melody from the stands. "Oh no this is bad!" I look at her and I draw my next card breathing slowly. It was strange that he didn't attack so I thought a moment then looked at my cards. I drew my Primus Pilus and if I tribute summon him in I could beat Dark Illusion. It would certainly turn the tide of this duel. "Alright I tribute my face down monster to summon in Dragunity Primus Pilus in attack position! Now with a higher attack stat I can take down your Magician! Go Primus!" Mephiles growled as his monster was taken off the field. "Your move, Mephiles!" I said as he drew his next card. "Pot of desires! When banishing 10 cards from my deck I can draw 2 more to my hand!" He did as he said and banished 10 cards from the top of his deck and drew 2 more. "I'll place one card face down in defense position and end my turn!" I wondered his plan and drew a card. My eyes widened slightly as I picked up Ra. I smiled to myself. "Let's see you come back from this Mephiles! I pay up 5000 life points to summon in The Winged Dragon of Ra! Now Primus destroy his face down monster then Ra attack him directly for 5000 life points!" Mephiles looked stunned as we were both equally at 3000 life points. He drew a card trembling. "I place one card face down in defense position and end my turn!" I smirk and draw. "That won't save you, Mephiles! Primus attack his face down! Now Ra obliterate his life points!" Ra blasted Mephiles causing the hedgehog to fall to his knees in defeat. "You lose." Everyone cheered as Mephiles growled. I could see Mika in the stands and all I could do is smile. Mephiles stood his staff pointed at me. "Time to die old friend!!!" Sanctum stepped in front of Dimitri. "He's a child you heartless bastard." Sanctum punched Mephiles and black ooze came from his nose like blood. "You will regret this." Mephiles said as he disappeared into thin air. "Thank you, Sanctum." Everyone ran over but I realized Knuckles and Tikal weren't there. "Congratulations folks! Our final 2 duelists are Dimitri Gears and Infinite Jackal!!!" My heart sank. Tikal lost. I growled to myself and everyone noticed. "The world is relying on me to save them now. Mephiles was one thing but I have no clue about Infinite or his deck." Melody grabbed Dimitri and pulled him aside from everyone. "Listen to me closely, baby brother. Infinite runs a lightsworn deck but when I dueled him I only saw evil in his eyes. You have to win. Especially after what he did to me last night. You have to win!" Melody had always treated me like I was incapable of anything. To hear her say she was counting on me hit me hard and I smiled and hugged her. "I will win, sis. For you and the whole world."
Four years ago
"Melody! You promised!"
"I know baby bro but you are far too weak. I don't want to make you cry."
"I won't cry!"
"Melody, duel your brother."
"But Papa Gadget!"
"No buts. If you promised you might as well give him a chance."
As the duel proceeded Dimitri began to change into a dark crystal like form known as obsidian. Thus this other form was called Obsidius. When he first changed he had no recollection of changing. He blacked out and Melody panicked. She brought him in the house to her fathers. She cried and vowed to never let Dimitri do anything dangerous. She feared he wouldn't be ready for another change. She feared he'd blackout under pressure again. She wanted him safe.
Present day
"Dimitri, kick his ass." Melody said to me with a smile on her face. I smiled back at her.
