Chapter One: Something New

*Tyler's POV*

My life is getting quite boring at this point. Okay, maybe that's not really true. I mean I have a lot of great things happening, but I mean my YouTube channel is getting kind of repetitive. "Q and Slays," collabs, and me just talking is getting alittle old.

Recently, I've been thinking of a way to make my channel more interesting. I thought about just doing different kind of videos, like pranks, challenges, and random tags, but then I realized something: I don't want people to have to watch just me every day. I want to lead my people to other amazing YouTubers. I want to help other people be seen.

I want to make a collab channel.

"Well Hello there everybody! My name is Tyler Oakley and today I have a request for you guys. I don't know how you guys are going to take this, but I really like this idea. Okay, so I've been thinking about my channel lately and I realized I'm not really happy. Don't take that the wrong way! I'm not quitting this channel! Don't even think that ya silly people. Actually, I'm kind of expanding my channel in a way. Here let me just say this in a better way." I pause the video I'm recording and take a deep breath. Tyler, get yourself together. You sound like you're qutting. You seem crazy! "Im starting a collaboration channel! Aaannndd I want you guys to be a part of it. So, if you want to be on my new channel, please make a video for your audition, title it "It Me For Tyler Oakley," and include the following things in the video: Your name, age, where you're from, and just some kind of interesting stuff that you think will make me choose you. I can't wait to watch your videos and meet some of you guys! I will continue making videos on this channel, don't worry. Anyway, please give this video a big thumbs up, click subscribe and don't forget to send me your videos! Bye guys."

As I uploaded the video, I was surprisingly really nervous. It wasn't really a huge video. Like I wasn't coming out again, or quitting YouTube or anything, but I guess it was something that would change my life.

I must have looked through a thousand videos. Each one pretty much the same, until I came across a couple of boys from England. In the video they had on cat whiskers. They seemed pretty interesting. They were definitely different than the others. They were roomates and seemed to have such a great connection with each other and their auduence. Dan Howell and Phil Lester were in for sure.

After about another hundred videos, I found my next collaborator. Connor Franta was a good looking boy from Minnesota. He was obsessed with cats, coffee and tumblr. The thing that stood out to me most though, was his outro. He did this little thing where he spoke really fast and mumbled everything before saying bye. It was cute and something new that really intrigued me.

Since I already let one collaborator be two people, when I saw the "Holy Trinity" I knew I could let three people be on one day. Hannah Hart, Grace Helbig, and Mamrie Hart had me in tears with their terrible puns. It also helped that their individual channels were just as great. Hannah had "My Drunk Kitchen." Mamrie had "You Deserve a Drink" and "Mametown." And Grace's newer channel "ItsGrace" was hilarious as well. I just couldn't say no to their hummor.

After more endless hours of searching, I was about to give up when I came across a blue eyed Australian. He seemed shy, but every once and a while, when he'd let his guard down, he was the funniest guy I'd seen. That was it. Troye Sivan was my finally collaborator.

I couldn't have been happier with my choices

This chapter is pretty short, but trust me that will change very soon.

In this story, Tyler does still live in LA. Connor is still in Minnesota. The Trinity is still in LA as well. Troye is in Australia. And obviously Dan and Phil are in England.
