I'm following Elena again. I've gotten away with it for the past four days, but the only thing I have to show for it is a stalker status and the observant fact that she swings her hips and holds her head high when she walks. She's pretty confident, and I suppose I can see what my brother likes in her, but that doesn't change the fact that he's violating our rules; The rules that keep us safe.

She turns a corner, and moments later, as do I, but I find that she's stopped to rifle through her bag just on the other side. I try to turn around before she spots me.

"John?" she gasps. Caught. I turn around sheepishly.

"I've never seen you during the day before. It's kind of.. weird," she says. She's a good four or so inches shorter than me (and John), so she has to tilt her head up to meet my eyes. I don't like it.

"Really?" I say. If this makes her uncomfortable, wait until she finds out about-

"I'm kidding," she says, swiping her hand against my arm. I didn't care for that either. "What are you up to?"

"Oh I was just uh... heading to the dry cleaners," I lie. I hope she doesn't notice. "You?"

"Well, I was going to yoga, but then my aunt called, and you know her. She lost her keys. Again. So, I'm off to rescue her." she babbles. I don't actually know her aunt, and I wonder if her and John have ever met, but I just nod. "Are you okay?"

"Me? Uh, yeah. Just.. running late."

"To the dry cleaners?" she questions. Shit, um... "Relax. You don't have to tell me. It's fine." Then, already having caught me off guard, she totally drives it home by kissing me. Her lips, on mine, which are technically John's too, but she kissed me. This is already falling apart and I can tell. "See you tonight!" she says as she saunters away.

Tonight?
