That was around 4 years ago, Give or take. I still remember it all crystal clear, as if it had only happened yesterday.

Today was the day that I was finally going to go back to Konoha. I had learned so much over these past 4 years. As I was walking away from the hideout I realized how much I didn't want to leave.

"Cheer up." Itachi mumbled as we continued walking in silence. The same words he said years ago.

"I'm going to miss you..." I sighed, looking up at him sadly.

"Don't worry, i'll see you again soon." He ruffled my hair. "I did promise I would visit on your birthday next month."

I looked up to see him smile kindly down at me as I let a small smile slip through myself. I would be turning 11.

"Do you think Suki-chan will recognize me?" I asked worriedly, playing with my tail out of habit.

"Of course he will." Itachi said in complete certainty.

We were approaching the gates of Konoha all too quickly. I didn't like it one bit, I didn't want to leave Itachi yet.

We both stopped a bit of ways away from the gate and turned to face each other. As I looked up at him I heard something clip around my neck. I looked down to see Itachi had put his Uchiha necklace around my neck.

It was a simple Uchiha sign pendant on a long silver chain, but I knew how much this meant to him, he carried it around everywhere.

"I can't accept this Itachi!" I made a move to take it off but he stopped me.

"This way Sasuke is sure to recognize you." Itachi smiled warmly and poked my forehead. "Now go."

"I love you Ita-kun!!" I sniffled while launching at him and tackling him into a hug. Realizing that I had used his nickname that has long since been abandoned.

He chuckled kindly, once again delving into past conversation by saying,

"How can such a small kitten have so much force?"

Soon after he poofed away, leaving me standing there dumbfounded.

"I'M NOT SMALL BASTARD!!!" I yelled as soon as I regained my senses.
