Baileys POV
I grasped Ashley's hand. She looked so cute this arvo. With her brown hair past her ribs straight down and her light tan skin brining out the colour in her eyes, she looked the perfect fit for a trip on the field. Our hands swayed in the breeze. It was romantic as we walked to the car in the sunlight. Our eyes met, she blushed. She blushed! She never blushed!
"Oh come here you!"
I pulled her closer by the waist, our lips brushing each other. She pulled away. I went in again.
"Na ah! That's all you get!"
"Aww come on."
"No I'm serious, we need to get going!"
I ignored her and put my arms around her. This time she didn't pull away. The moment lasted a good 30 seconds. We pulled away and she put her head on my shoulder with her arms wrapping me in a warm hug.
"I love you!"
"REALLY? I love you too!"
A tear trickled down her cheek. She wiped it away - she thought I didn't see it. There's something you should know about Ash. She doesn't cry, she's not nice to you unless she knows you well, she doesn't blush. So pretty much anything girly, she doesn't do.
"Ok, come on, let's go!"
Ashley's POV
I was in the passengers seat flicking through Kye's file finding nothing.
"Ok let's head to University of Queensland. Apparently that's where he did his studies!"
We pulled into the parking lot and found a park. I hoped out and went around to Baileys side to hand him the file.
"What do you think?"
"I don't know! So why do you want to do the check this bad?"
"Because he knows about my past and I need to make sure I can trust him!"
Bailey just nodded. We held hands and walked up to the main building. He opened the door for me and motioned me to go first. I went up to the desk and smiled sweetly at the lady.
"May I help you?"
"Yes thanks. Do you know a Kye Baker by any chance?"
Her smile faded.
"I'm sorry, we're closing now."
She moved to close the blinds that would separate us. I jarred my hand between the desk and the bottom of the blind and pushed it up. The lady stood back, startled.
"I am very tired and very impatient. Do you know who he is?"
"Y-Y-Yes, I do, h-he is bad news!"
"What do you mean bad news?"
"I-I-I've said too much already! I need to leave!"
"Hey!"
The women stopped. Dead still.
"I need to know what he's done! Now there's something your not telling me!"
The lady sighed.
"Ok, he was here, three months ago studying criminal law. The teacher didn't pass him because he was never very good at it! I'd say Kye got a little mad! And he took it out on us. All of us. He kept some hostage, set some building on fire that killed a lot of people! He even shot some people. We didn't even do anything. He never finished his studies and left without an apology!"
I looked over at Bailey and both of us had the same look on our faces. Something that said:
"WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING!"
