Chapter 11 ~ Injury

A/N: YOOOO GUESS WHO'S BACK. I am so so sorry for being gone for so long. I just had a lot going on in life and just lost imagination for this story. BUT! Recap: Jake was trying to make Levi really jealous but they both apologized so they're friends again & Levi apologized for his hurtful words to Emma. Jake & Emma are now in Levi's squad again.

Emma's POV

After Levi left I went to Jake's room to tell him what just happened. Apparently they're friends again, too. It made me really glad and relieved to have everything under control now. We walked hand-in-hand to the mess hall and sat with the higher-ups. "So what's on the schedule for today, Commander Eyebrows?" Hanji asked.

"I want yours and Levi's squad to watch over Eren and take notes while he does your experiments in his titan form." Erwin answered.

"Yes! Experiment time!" Hanji jumped up and ran out of the mess hall. Levi sighed and shook his head.

"That's awesome! We'll get to see Eren's titan form in real life!" Jake said excitingly.

"Yeah, pretty cool." I replied, pretty excited myself.

Time skip

Pretty cool? Yes. Pretty terrifying? YES. His titan form was much bigger and louder than I expected. I tried my best to write down notes as I observed his reactions to various experiments.

We flew on our 3DMG through the forest while Hanji tested how fast Eren could run. "Haha, I'm faster than you, Emma!" Jake shouted from ahead of me.

"Yeah right!" I gave the machine even more gas and caught up with him. We continued flying until Eren got too tired. he sat in his titan form breathing heavily.

"Good job, Eren! That's a new best!" Hanji said while standing on top of his head. He nodded and stood up again.

"Lunch time!" Armin yelled as he came on his 3DMG.

"Woohoo! Food time!" Sasha and Connie yelled as they started flying back to headquarters.

"We should go." Jake said. I nodded and we started headed back, too. Eren was still tired as he jogged along back, still in his titan form. Suddenly though, he stopped and looked around. He looked around all the forest as if looking for something. Suddenly his eyes turned a glowing green and he screamed. I covered my ears from the screeching as he then started kicking all the surrounding trees and throwing whatever he could find.

"You guys head back! We'll take care of this!" Moblit yelled to me and Jake. We quickly continued back to headquarters but the last thing I remember is a very hard impact on the back of my head as I lost control of the 3DMG and plummeted to the ground.

Time skip

I woke up in what I guess was the infirmary as my eyes tried to adjust to the bright light. My head was absolutely killing me. I looked around to find that it was now night time. Jake was beside me holding my hand but when I started moving around he woke up. He smiled and hugged me tight. "I'm so glad you're okay!" He said.

"I-I'm fine... what happened?" I asked.

"When Eren went berserk, he started throwing around pieces of trees and rocks. One hit you in the head and you blacked out. You have a mild concussion." He explained.

"Emma I am so sorry!" Eren burst into the infirmary. I gripped my head from the loud sound as Mikasa and Armin followed him in. "I started freaking out because the forest looked a lot like the forest of giant trees where my last squad died."

"Eren, it's okay." I smiled at him. "That's not your fault. We're still figuring this whole titan thing out."

"Oh, you're awake." Levi was the next to come through the door. "I brought you some food." He set a tray of soup and bread in front of me.

"Thank you, Levi." I smiled at him.

"So how are you feeling?" Jake asked.

"Just a major migraine." I said, taking a bite out of the bread.

"Well if you need anything let me know." Levi said. I nodded and everybody except Jake went out.

"I was pretty worried there." Jake said, looking down. "The bleeding wouldn't stop and we couldn't get Eren under control."

"Well I'm okay now, I promise." I gave him a smile and held his hand. He gave me a small smile in return.

"I love you." He said.

"I love you, too." I gave him a quick kiss before returning to my food so I could rest some more.
