New neighbour

Hey so this is my first proper attempt of writing a story on here. Hope u like it.

Athena

The wind rushed through my hair as I rode on the deserted road on my barely together bike. My feet lay unmoving by the pedals, letting the the hill's decline take me.

Bike riding is a way I let my mind wonder and think about things. It was my piece and quiet. My serenity.

I neared my cosy cottage, with English ivy covering part of the light brick wall and red front door standing out against the cream walls.
I walked my bike to the back to my garden and settled on the sofa when I put everything away.

I lived alone, and I was ok with that. I like being in my own company. I guess I would call myself an introvert.

I walked over to my record player and put a  Shawn Mendes vinyl on. His breathtaking voice took over the atmosphere of my home.

Interrupting my swaying and singing along to his songs, a loud van beeping caught my attention. I quickly took the needle of the vinyl and went to the window to investigate.

A moving van was backing down my driveway, but to the other side where there was a deserted empty cottage which has laid vacant for such a long time now.

'I didn't know I was getting new neighbours' I wondered to myself. I walked back over the record and put it back on, then over to the window to watch, me being my nosy self.

Once the van had stopped, a matte black bmw came down the driveway slowly. They must be the neighbours. With my intense staring behind the curtain, I caught eyes with the driver.

I couldn't see much of the person, but it was defiantly a man and in his 20s. Also guessing from his car I could tell he had money and was probably rich. I wondered why would he choose here to live.

I left the window, feeling embarrassed of the eye contact. My phone buzzed in my pocket which had now taken my attention. I pulled it out and saw a text from my best friend Lucia.

We were alike in so many ways, had so many similar interests but we were also different. She was more extroverted but a joy to be around.

'Sleepover? Pizza? Film night x'
I grinned and text back agreeing with her ideas. We ended up choosing my place instead of hers because she shared an apartment with someone and we wanted it to be us two.

It was 4 pm now and she was coming at 6pm so I had a couple hours. I decided to go to the shops to get ice cream and pizza for later.

I grabbed my Volkswagen Beetle keys and headed to my cream coloured convertible car.
I shut the front door and locked it, and headed to my car.

The house next to mine caught my attention, two men were lifting things out the van into the house. I caught eyes with the man from the car. I decided to be polite and introduce myself.

As I walked in his direction, I realised how handsome he was. He was easily 6'2 ft, has dark curly hair and was tan. I looked down at my outfit clothes, all of a sudden feeling self conscious in my grey jogging bottoms and tatted trainers.

I came up to him and his smile caught me off guard. And his eyes... they were a dark forest green. I looked at him for a few seconds before snapping out of a trance and smiled back.

"Hi, I'm Athena" I said as I looked at him, my fingers fighting with my car keys.

"Hi Athena I'm Levi your new neighbour" he teasingly said, his voice low and his grin took over his face.

I laughed "Yeah I guess so, I'll see you another time, knock if you need anything" I suggested being a polite neighbour. He smiled and thanked me in gratitude.

I shakily walked to my car and got in and sat immobile for about 10 seconds. He was gorgeous. How was he my neighbour !? His green eyes kept in my mind.

I looked in the overhead mirror at myself. I wasn't the most attractive person but not the worst. I had hazel eyes, freckles and dark brown shoulder length hair. I had plump lips and an average sized nose.
I was however more on the curvy side, having big boobs, a muffin top stomach and large thighs and bum. I shook my hair, slammed the mirror closed and started the engine.

As it was a nice sunny day I took the roof of the car, and put my sound system on connecting it to my phone and put my songs on shuffle. Mutual by Shawn Mendes came on. I immediately turned the sound right up and started reversing. I caught eyes with Levi again. He was looking straight at me. I looked away quickly and drove away. 

Why was he so handsome? And most importantly my neighbour!
