Stepping out in the cold air to a busy street in the college town of Boston, Emily quietly whimpers. The street is lit up with pretty Christmas lights that stretch a long way down the fancy part of Boston, Brookline. Packs of young people gathering on doorsteps or bars, restaurants, lounge and so on. There is a benefit of living near the fun and upbeat part of town, after all, everyone seems to be happy and jolly here. You can hear Christmas carols from every corner, in every little shop there is. Despite the chilly weather, everyone seems to be warm and happy.

Not Emily, Emily is not warm and happy.

She silently pulls the sides of the thick winter coat that is shielding the little body of hers, shaking to every cool breeze. The city on the coast brings in this cold air that makes a lonely soul even more lonely.

What am I thinking? Going Christmas shopping the night before Christmas. Never celebrated Christmas anyway. Emily let out a sigh as she makes her way through the crowd. I hate people, there are so many people in this city.

But at least those people have other people to be with.

And that thought doesn't help Emily situation a bit. Moving to this huge city, going to an incredible school that she happens to hate so much. Living with his "long-lost" father doesn't feel good at all either.

Emily moved to Boston in junior year in high school. She was accepted to this rigorous school with the best program there is to offer, well, why not? Her mom sent her off with nothing than two suitcases and a pink teddy bear, literally half her size, Pink Lemonade. Apparently, her biological father lives in this apartment in the busy part of the city. Sounded like a lot of fun for young Emily, as she laid back on the economy seat of a plane flying for 15 hours straight. This place does not sound so bad, she thought to herself, well she never knew. She arrived at a small apartment in the basement of a college town full of drunk and high kids trying to get along in life. Not bad, she sighed, not bad.

Never a time here, Emily ever felt happy and comfortable. The city is too busy, people are too cruel and she is too young. Two years of high school passed with all ups and all downs, and all achievements, and all bad decisions. Never a popular kid in school, she just quietly live through life in her little shell, hoping college would be a lot better. Then she graduated, and she learned life is never as good as it seems. College hit little Emily like a truck. The party scenes, the dorms, the works, they were just too much. So half a semester in she decided to move back with her dad, not so far away from school.

Well, I have always been this alone. She thoughts, walking through the big, but closed and empty shopping mall. It is Christmas night, of course, nothing is opened, right Em? Nothing to see here. She left and went home, all by herself on a strangely empty train. There is something about this emptiness that seems so unbothered yet so unsettling.

Walking into a dark, quiet apartment, Emily slams the door to her room and lay down on her queen-sized bed. Well, my dad and his "girlfriend" is never fucking home so what am I even expecting?

Before she can let out the 1000 sighs of the day, her phone buzzes. What it is now?? She is well-annoyed. It's my lonely, depressing night, who would want to talk to me on my lonely, depressing nights. She groaned. It is not right. Ulfi left, Rith is in New York, Michael is with his girlfriend and An is probably with her boyfriend's family. Who the hell is trying to talk to me?

She got up and make her way across the room to the phone on top of the mini fridge. It is what it is. It's Tinder! She rolls her eyes so hard, it must have gone to the back of her head. With her friends, and family, and school pressures the last few weeks, she became so frustrated with dating apps that her friends convinced her that it would help her find the soulmate of her life. It's freaking Tinder.

Justen..... Huh, I think he is that cute, good guy. I thought he super-liked me or something. She opened the text out of curiosity. Oh, wow. A smile stretches across her face, he is quite cute.

1st text: I would like to send my application for the service of three hours of cuddles, with your human-sized stuffies, under a thick blanket drinking hot chocolate and watching Disney movies. I hope to hear from you soon.

2nd text: Wow, that was like two weeks ago, you didn't bother to answer my application. Did I get it?

That is the cutest thing Emily has ever heard. Well, this is damn sure a little Christmas magic.
