Sadie had yet again ditched her. It was Friday night and they had been planning to go out to dinner. Millie lost it and just cried. Finally she decided to call Baylee.

"Hey..." Millie said into the phone as Baylee answered.

"Hey?" Baylee said.

"Hey" Millie sniffled.

"Mills? Mills what's up?" Baylee asked.

"I- I don't know." Millie's voice cracked.

"Wait, Millie... are you crying...?" Baylee said. She instantly stood now worried.

"Yeah... sit back down it's fine." Millie sniffled.

"Wh- how did you even know I was standing?" Baylee said sitting and falling onto her bed now laying.

"Because I know you. Sadie ditched me. She didn't even say sorry either she just said she had 'different and better plans'." Millie sniffled quoting Sadie.

"She said that...?" Baylee said. Millie sniffled.

They talked for an hour or two on the phone.

"Alright well I'm gonna go because..." Baylee said.

"Why? Are you ok?" Millie asked. Suddenly Millie's room door opened and Baylee walked in grinning and hanging up. Millie squealed a little as happiness took over and she smiled huge. Baylee hugged the sitting girl and they fell onto the bed hugging.

"What are you doing here?" Millie smiled huge.

"Well you said you were free tonight..." Baylee smiled. Millie hugged her tight.

"Why don't we get dinner? Your chair  can fit on my bike." Baylee said.

"Ok." Millie easily agreed. Baylee set her in their chair and as they headed out Mr. Brown stopped them.

"Have her home by nine thrity. And please, be safe." He said.

"Yessir." Baylee said and they headed out.

"Wait wait wait. You said your bike." Millie said eyeing the motorcycle in her drive way.

"Yeah. My bike." Baylee laughed.

Baylee lifted Millie on and tied her chair than gave her a helmet. Baylee adjusted Millie's feet onto the footpads then Baylee hopped on and put her legs over Millie's feet on the sides so that they couldn't fall.

"Where's your helmet?" Millie asked as she gripped tight onto Baylee.

"On your head." Baylee said.

"Just go slow..." Millie said. Baylee laughed and then they went. They drove down to a diner closer to the Southside.

"Y'know I've never been to your house." Millie said.

"That's because you don't belong there." Baylee said.

"Oh come on. Can we at least drive by?" Millie asked.

"No. It's too south." Baylee said.

"I know what it is. You don't want me meet your friends." Millie said.

"Of course I don't." Baylee said.

"Wait wasn't the diner that way?" Millie said.

"Yeah but you wanted to see my house right?" Baylee said. Millie snuggled her head on Baylee's shoulder feeling the wind hit her face.

As they pulled in there were a few people outside.

"There it is. The mobile home in all it's stinky glory." Baylee laughed.

"It's not that bad." Millie said. Baylee laughed.

"Ay Teddy you seen your dad?" a boy around Baylee and Millie's age called.

"No Nic I haven't." Baylee said. Suddenly a boy on a bike pulled up fast.

"Ace what's going on?" Nic asked.

"It's Brody-" he panted.

"What'd he do?" Nic asked.

"Whose Brody?" Millie asked Baylee.

"Dad." Baylee said as she turned the bike around.

"Hey, hey your not going to help your dad?" Millie said.

"He's got a gang and I told your dad I'd keep you safe." Baylee said.

"Turn around and go see what's up!" Millie scolded. Baylee sighed and turned around.

"Ruining my dinner date..." Baylee growled as she revved the engine.

"Date huh?" Millie grinned and tilted her head to look at Baylee. Baylee gave her a blue-eye piercing stare and Millie was blushing.

"Just stay near me." Baylee said as they drove following the gang.

"Yes because I was going to get up and walk off." Millie said.

"Sorry..." Baylee said. They arrived but Baylee stopped short as her dad walked out of the building.

He was tall, lean, and muscular and very very nice looking.

"Baylee?" he said as he came over.

"Dad." Baylee said.

"Oh my gosh you must be Millie!" he smiled and shook her hand.

"You talked about me." Millie gawked.

"She hasn't shut up about you." He laughed.

"Shut up." Baylee said blushing.

"Theo get her outta here." Baylee's dad said he patted her shoulder and Baylee drove off.

"Theo?" Millie said.

"My middle name is Theodore." Baylee stated.

"Baylee Theodore Johnson. I love it." Millie smiled.

"Hey you don't get any nickname passes." Baylee laughed.

"Fine. But one day I will." Millie grinned and Baylee did too. They arrived at the diner. Baylee parked and hopped off she put her keys in her pocket. She set up Millie's wheelchair then held out her arms which Millie happily got into.

Baylee set her in her chair and then began wheeling her in.
