If one thing was certain in my life it would be that I would have a very eventful life.
I am the niece of Catelyn Stark. My father was her twin brother. His name was Alister Tully and he died fighting at the trident. My mother was a Tyrell. Margret Tyrell. First born daughter of Olenna Tyrell. She came north during the war and she gave birth to a baby girl in Winterfell. Me she gave birth to me and died on her birthing bed. Olivia Tully. The families all agreed that I should stay north to be kept safe with my aunt. Catelyn raised me along side her eldest Robb who was born only days before I was.
The story comes to today. The king is coming to Winterfell. Jon Arynn has died and King Robert wishes to name Ned Stark hand of the king.
I was helping Catelyn prepare the kids for the arrival.
"Olivia can you braid my hair?" Little Arya begged.
"Of course sit on the stool." I brushed her hair as Catelyn braided Sansas hair. I did Aryas hair and she quickly ran off.
"Where is Bran?" Cat asked. I shrugged as I helped Rickon get dressed. She ran out to go find her second youngest son.
"You know the prince is coming and I hear he is so handsome." Sansa was cooing.
"I'm sure he is. I'm more interested in Jaime Lannister. I hear he is the most talented swordsman and very handsome." I laughed. Sansa followed me to my room to help me dress. We gossiped over the boys and laughed over little things. When the time came we wandered down to the main gate. I stood behind the starks beside Theon. We watched the kings brigade come rushing in. As Jaime removed his helmet I smiled he was as handsome as everyone said. Sansas eyes were glued on Prince Joffrey. Honestly he was the ugliest thing I've ever seen but she was so smitten. Sansa turned to look at me and smiled.
"Where's the imp?" Arya kept asking.
"Shut up Arya!" I laughed at the two of them bickering. I looked at Theon and he was holding back his laughter. As Ned and Robert went down to the crypts Catelyn and I escorted the queen and the youngest prince and the princess to their chambers.
"My queen this is my niece Olivia Tully." Cat introduced me to the queen and I curtsied.
"A beauty, is she to be married?"
"No your grace." I said.
"Then that is a matter we must discuss." I dropped back and they walked off. I sat on a bench and I heard a laugh behind me.
"Married huh never thought I'd hear that word for you." Theon was snickering behind me. Theon sat beside me. "I suppose that's going to come soon for me as well."
"Well that is something we shall suffer together." I linked our arms and we laughed.
Theon laid down on the bench with his head on my lap. I ran my hands through his hair as we talked.
"Who do you think they will marry you off to?" Theon asked.
"I don't know I just hope it's not a Frey." I faked puking as I said Frey.
"Oh come on the Frey sons aren't as bad as the daughters. They are all messed up." We laughed.
"Come on you two." Robb said to us. He smirked and walked off. Theon hopped up and held his arm out.
"My lady." He smiled at me. I grabbed his arm and we went inside.
Theon has always been my closest friend because we are in a way the same. He's always been good to me, granted I know how he is. I know he frequents the whore house but so does Robb and all their friends. It's just how the guys are.
As we walked I noticed Jon sulking off to the side. I walked over and Theon followed.
"Why so glum Jon?" I asked.
"The oh so pleasant Lady Stark just told me I'm not welcome at the feast because she doesn't want to offend the king and queen." He had a knife in his hand and was stabbing the fence he was leaning against.
"Oh Snow it's not all it's cracked up to be." Theon snickered and pulled me away.
"At least you aren't hated simply for existing." I could feel the anger in his voice. I looked back at him one more time and I swear he was crying.
"Olivia! Come with me to pick out a dress for the prince!" Sansa came running to me. She pulled me away from Theon and I dramatically held my hand out begging for help. Theon just laughed and returned to the guys.
I helped Sansa dress for dinner and Catelyn came to Sansas room.
"Olivia after dinner there is a matter we need to discuss." She told me.
"What about?"
"Marriage." My face lost all color.
"May I be excused?" I asked. She nodded and I went to my room. I pulled out a dinning dress and pulled it on. I let my hair down from the updo it had been in all day and let my naturally wavy hair rest on my shoulders.
Marriage, how can she be thinking about marrying me off at this moment when we have a castle full of southerners.
I heard a knock on my door.
"Come in!" I chimed. I stared at my self in my mirror and straightened my dress out. Theon emerged leaning against my door frame.
"You know if I was a complete stranger to this castle I would think you were a daughter of Catelyn. With your ginger hair and small frame. You look just like her." He was just staring. "But we apparently have an audience with Ned and Cat after dinner."
I turned to look at him. He seemed nervous.
"What's the matter Theon?" I asked him.
"Not now come on we are expected." He walked in and took my arm. He escorted me down to the main hall and we took our seats beside Robb.
Most would expect me to sit beside Sansa but I have always felt more at peace beside Robb and Theon. I have even trained with the long sword and archery with them.
"Hey Olivia that Karstark boy over there says he could beat you in one on one combat with a sword." Robb was laughing.
"Please I have been training along side these fools since I could walk. I'll give you a run for your money." I smirked at the Karstark boy. He didn't believe me.
"Trust me boy you don't want to go against her, I've witnessed her put my eldest son and bastard on their asses." Ned came up behind us with a laugh.
"Theon, Olivia. Can we speak with you?" The two of us stood and followed him into a room off of the main hall. The king queen and lady stark sat around the room. The king had some whore on his lap and a pint of ale in his hand.
"Now you two are of age to marry." Ned started, "you two are the future of two great houses and the prime moment in your life to bare children."
"Enough with the dramatics. What my dear friend is trying to say is you two are to be married before Olivia's next name day." The king laughed. I felt Theons hand touch my shoulder.
"At least we aren't Frey's..." he jokes. I took a deep breath. The kings laughter boomed through the air. He walked to us and put his hands on our shoulders.
"It shall be a beautiful ceremony." And he walked out. I still hadn't moved or even taken a breath.
Theon has always been my best friend but a husband? Could he be trusted as a husband. Is he going to have bastards roaming the halls and whores warming our bed when I am not around.
"We will leave you two." Queen Cersi said as she shooed everyone out.
"Talk to me." Theon muttered. He moved closer but I winced at his touch. I sat upon the chair the queen was on.
"Am I really that awful?" He asked. I immediately started to cry. He took my hands and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed the side of my head and allowed me to cry into him. Once I calmed down he lifted my chin with his finger.
"Now talk to me."
"You favor whores..."
"Because I couldn't ever have anyone I wanted. I settled. From this day on no more. Only you. I promise." I stood.
"We shall see." I regained my calmness and walked away to my chambers. Not long after I dressed down I heard Sansas chuckle and a knock.
"Leave me alone." I got into bed and she pushed through my door.
"Theon?! You're marrying theon?" She sounded shocked.
"Before my next name day."
"That's less than a fortnight."
"Yup."
"Aren't you going to protest this? He has sex with those, those whores."
"Really Sansa I had no idea." She paced in my room as another knocked on my door.
"What!" I shouted.
"Cousin it's Robb, can I have a minute to talk."
"Very well." He came in and told Sansa to leave.
"I want you to know he will be true to his word. I am sure of it." I sighed.
"Robb he's known all over the north as the Greyjoy with the prized cock. He loves whores and it's only a matter of time before one shows up with a babe in her belly."
"Well guess what even the nodelest of lords have bastards and that's something you'll have to deal with. He's always been by your side you should trust him more." Robb stood and walked out.
Days past and I avoided Theon at all costs. But today was the worst of days little Bran fell from the tower and hasn't woken. I have sat in the godswood crying for hours.
"I thought I'd find you here." I heard Theons voice. All I wanted was a hug. I stood and ran to him.
"He's going to be okay. The maester said the most dangerous time has past."
"I'm sorry." I muttered, "you're my best friend and you have been since we were children. I should be lucky I'm to marry someone I care so deeply about." I muttered. He kissed my cheek.
"You've always been the most important women in my life. I wouldn't ever dream of hurting you." His eyes were so sincere. He looked from my eyes to my lips. He slowly moved closer and placed a sweet gentle kiss on my lips.
