Staring at the man in front of her eyes, Rose can not believe what she is seeing. The man gets up and walks towards her without breaking eye contact.
"Grandpa! But how? she asks.
Laughing the man replies, "Sorry my dear Rose, I can assure you I am not your Grandfather. I am your Grand Uncle, your Grandfather was my twin brother."
"That does not make sense because they would have told me about you," Rose says in confusion.
Looking at Marco who is standing right behind Rose, Rose's Grand Uncle ask to be alone with her. Nodding his head, Marco excuses himself from the room leaving them alone.
"Truth be told, your Grandparents would have never told you about me because, well lets just say we have bad blood," he says walking back to his desk.
Gasping Rose says, "That does not sound like my Grandparents, they would not hate no one, especially family. That is unless you did something that cause them to shun you."
Crossing his arms together, his lips twitches trying to hold back a smile but his eyes shows admiration. "You really have your Grandmother's wisdom, and your father's intelligence to figure that out. Have you ever read the story in bible about Esau and Jacob."
"My Grandmother was religious, so yes, she had me read the bible every morning and night. The story of Esau and Jacob is sad to me, twins who fought in their mothers womb, one was favored more than the other by each parent and when Esau was going to be given his birthright by his father, his brother and mother conspired and stole it from," she says.
Realization comes onto her face when she plays back in her head what she just say, "Are you trying to tell me that you stole your brother's birthright?"
"Yes, that is exactly what I am saying," he replies.
"How?" Rose asks in shock.
"Your Grandfather was the oldest and was suppose to inherit the Appleton Organization, but I guess you could say I was a little jealous. I wanted everything he had and was going to inherit, that included the woman he was dating at the time," he says to her.
Rose face is stoke as she listen to her Grand Uncle. "Are you are saying that you had a thing for my Grandmother?" she asks.
Turning his head away from her he says, "No, I was dating your Grandmother at the time, she was from stable background. She was not poor but she was not rich either, that is why I was jealous of your Grandfather, especially when I found out he was dating Ella Renaldi."
Sitting on the desk he continues his story, "I am ashamed at what I have done to my brother, I also have regrets because I became blind to see I should have been happy with what I have. When I found out that my brother was going to meet with father's men in private because he was inheriting the everything and I only would have had a portion of it, I hired the Renaldi's to help me by kidnapping my brother. Then I took his place pretending to be him, when my father found out it was too late, I had already gain the access codes and the men acknowledge me as their leader."
"Ella who was dating your Grandfather broke up with him and start to draw near to me and your Grandmother who I broke up with because I wanted Ella, helped your Grandfather to heal. They did not fall in love right away, they were basically friends but eventually they became much more."
"Our father was disappointed in me when he found out I had orchestrated my brother abduction just so I can inherit what was not mines. And what was worse is that my father step up numerous bank accounts for me to do whatever I want but it all went to my brother."
